Sometimes it’s hard to get teens interested in reading, but usually, they love a good movie. Why not bridge the gap with a DVD and graphic novel crossover? The BWG Library has many graphic novels available that support or complement the stories we see on screen. Check out the selection below, or ask a librarian for help. There are hundreds of graphic novels in the BWG Library’s collection to get your reluctant reader started! For some great suggestions, check out this article in BradfordToday.ca https://www.bradfordtoday.ca//dvd-and-graphic-novel-crosso.

Brain Games - One Light, Three Switches There is a lightbulb inside a closet. The door is closed, and you cannot see if the light is on or off through the door. However, you know the light is off to start. Outside of the closet, there are three light switches. One of the switches controls the lightbulb in the closet. You can flip the switches however you want, but once you open the door, you can no longer touch the switches. How do you figure out without a doubt which switch controls the light? (Answer will be posted next week, unless someone can guess correctly...)

How quickly can you make ice? Learn how to make instant ice with Miss Bailey this week on Science Saturday! How does it work? When ice freezes, the water forms crystals that gradually spread. If you catch really cold water before the crystals have time to form, you can pour the water onto an ice cube and it will cause the crystals to form so that it freezes as you pour.
