The art of bonsai is more than 1000 years old and working with these little trees can be a very peaceful experience. They are really easy to care for once you learn how the tree grows and how to control and shape it. They do need regular training and pruning to keep them small and watering is key. The difference between bonsai plants from houseplants in the bonsai will have a bigger root structure confined to tiny pots that must have good drainage.

Giving Tuesday - Bylands x C.O.A.C.H. Byland's Garden Centre will match donations made to C.O.A.C.H. Byland’s Garden Centre and C.O.A.C.H. are partnering to highlight the importance of the 'Gift of Giving' to those who may not be able to participate in cardiac rehabilitation due to financial hardship after a cardiac event. All dollars raised during this fundraiser will allow more heart patients to access C.O.A.C.H.’s services. ... Byland’s Garden Centre will match all donations received to a total of $5,000 Maria Byland attended the C.O.A.C.H. program after open heart surgery to support a full recovery. She wanted to get back to her daily activities which included golf, gardening and more. C.O.A.C.H. helped her with this. C.O.A.C.H. is definitely a program to be involved in. I felt like I was in great hands with the amazing staff - they were so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. It’s a very important program for heart patients who are rehabilitating, and we are so pleased to be able to provide this support. - Maria Byland C.O.A.C.H.’s mission is to improve the health of those we serve. If you're noticing some of your planter pots or garden landscape need a little pick me up, we still have a massive, colourful selection of Bylands grown plants available to refresh your displays. There's a long-held belief that planting in the heat of summer is not ideal but high temperatures doesn't mean you can't continue to fill in those empty spaces in your garden with new plants. It is true that summer conditions cause new plantings some stress, but with a few best pract...ices your plants will establish successfully in your garden. One particular step to take in the summer is to fill your newly dug hole with water and let it drain before planting - especially when dealing with clay soil. This helps with an easier transition for the plant since the hole and surrounding soil are thoroughly moist. Stay hydrated and see you in the garden centre.

Featuring Linen Farm - Beautiful pure linen pieces designed in Canada and made in Europe Linen Farm is the creation of 2 sisters from BC and Ontario. This line was created based on their love of nature, colour and texture using fine European linen and always incorporating a touch of "outdoor chic". These timeless pieces are meant to be worn all year long and depict various emotion and moments in time. They are substantial in weight, giving them the right amount of structure ...and because they are stoned washed, they are luxuriously soft to the touch and only get better with wear.
