Had a great couple here from Switzerland the other day, they had been catching shrimp just before they arrived here and left us a tasty bag of fresh shrimp. Guests from Holland almost booked their holiday in the Maritimes where many are dealing with Dorian's aftermath! Lucky them they choose Port Alberni...hope we don't get too much rain.

This last week some of my visitors have had a little difficulty reading maps. Guests last week thought Port Alberni was on the outskirts of Tofino. Guests this week ended up lost in the mountains for 10 hours with no cellphone coverage as they looked for Avatar Grove. They drove to the tops of mountains on narrow gravel logging roads. They did find it and loved it. Avatar Grove is relatively near Sooke approximately 4hours south of here. Their goal was a short drive to Avatar Grove then head to Long Beach. Glad their story had a happy ending.
