A HUGE thank you again to Bill Morneau for coming out on Saturday and for his ongoing support of the CCAC! Here's a clip of him sharing kind words regarding his experience with the centre.

With longtime supporters Delta Bingo and Gaming, the Cabbagetown Community Arts Centre is launching a new online program of Speech Arts and Drama with our Music Theatre director Zoe Henderson. We will be taking students 6 to 15. No experience is necessary, just a desire to develop your oral communications skills, utilizing an imaginative approach to working with text, and learning the fundamentals of acting through the performance of prose, poetry and monologues. Public speaking and oratory will be explored. Preparation for RCM exams in Speech Arts & Drama is also available. Register online at http://www.cabbagetownarts.org/20//ccac-enrollment-form-2/

We had a full house last night at the CCAC! We were surely feeling the holiday magic last night, thanks to our students gracing us with their musical talents, at our 2019 Winter Recitals! It was an entertaining evening, with live performances (snacks and refreshments followed)! If you weren’t able to make it out last night, no worries! We will be holding our third and final winter recital of the year tonight at the centre (422 Parliament St.), starting @ 6pm! We hope to see you all there!

What a successful weekend! Thank you all who came out and supported the CCAC during the Cabbagetown Festival this past weekend. As well, thank you to our CCAC students for gracing the crowd with their skills and talents- we cannot be any more proud of each and every one of you! We would like to give a special shout out to Giniw! Thank you for helping us kick-off our 40th Anniversary celebrations by putting on such a wonderful performance! Bill Morneau, we are ever so grate...ful for your ongoing support of the Cabbagetown Community Arts Centre! We greatly appreciate your time and effort put into the CCAC. Thank you for coming out, taking the stage and showing your love to our community! On Saturday, Sun Life also left the directors of the CCAC, as well as its students, speechless as Paul Joliat, Assistant Vice President Global Partnership Sun Life and Suawanne Duangkham, Senior Specialist Global Partnerships Sun Life, presented us a cheque of $20,000!! The generous donation is made in light of Sun Life hearing the news about CCAC’s break in over the summer. We are forever appreciative!! Thank you all for your kindness, generosity and time as you not only contributed to the success of the event, but have allowed us to continue providing music programs to children, as we have been for 40 years! Words truly cannot express how thankful we are

On Saturday September 7, we will be on the Kids’ Zone stage from 1:00 to 1:30pm located on Carlton, west of Parliament. Come enjoy performances from some of our students as well, speeches from our supporters such as Bill Morneau and a representative from Sun-Life. Cake will follow!! As well, make sure to drop by our booth, located at 488 Parliament Street (just north of Carlton,... on the east side) for registration, questions, support or just to say HI! We hope to see you there!

A huge shout out to our community that has come together to support us after our recent break-in and theft. We lost over 20 guitars, violins, amplifiers, mics and a powered mixer. The response has been overwhelming. Thank you to everyone who donated to our Gofundme campaign, and the dozens of instruments donated in the past week. An unfortunate incident like this brings out the best in us, and renews our faith in humanity. ... Thank You Everybody! You rock! Sarah Patrick and Glen Gary The Cabbagetown Community Arts Centre

Absolutely overwhelmed with the outpouring of kindness and support we have been receiving. The host of this event will be donating the money earned from tonight's show to the CCAC! She will also be rallying some of her good friends to perform- you do not want to miss all the talented individuals who will be performing tonight! Thank you SO much to the organizers of this event, we greatly appreciate all your hard work, efforts and support

It is with great disappointment to inform you that last night there was a break in at the Cabbagetown Community Arts Centre (CCAC). The CCAC is one of the longest running registered charitable organizations of its kind in the city of Toronto. Please help the centre in raising money to continue its role in the community of providing high-quality arts and musical programs to those who would otherwise not be able to afford it. The centre has lost a great number of instruments a...nd equipment due to this senseless act. Any donation will help make an impact! To donate or learn more about the centre, please visit our GoFundMe Page. We thank you in advance for your contribution. It means so much to the staff, community and children https://www.gofundme.com/f/serving-the-community-for-40-yea
