The question of Tuesday is here for me. Yesterday I engaged in a distance consultation with clients who recently purchased a dreamy property in our area. They were excited and almost giddy at their acquisition. They’ve worked towards this goal for 17 years and have seen many opportunities pass by as they waited to afford their best. I could feel their energy as they crossed the finish line to attain their vacation property. But now - it’s old, it’s the wrong colour, the layou...t is bad, there’s not enough room, the lighting is dim, the driveway is too narrow and the stairs to the lake are rotting. Someone else’s dream had fallen apart and the new owners have arrived to reclaim its beauty. As we planned phase I, II, III and IV - I eased through the process like I’ve done a million times before. And I am fuelled by the uniqueness of each experience, personality and dream that each client brings to the plan. But - there’s one repetitive statement that echoed through the call. We want the cottage to reflect who we are. * * * I took these pictures on our new lake. The morning sun on Sunday lit the rocks to perfection and cast down a perfect likeness into the waters below. And the question was - what’s in our reflection? Can an interior space reflect who we are? I believe so. It’s messy, loud, full, calm, serene, busy, sparse? More than a design term of traditional, transitional, modern, eclectic, rustic etc ... what does your space reflect about who you are? It’s a worthy exercise to either inspire change, motivate a reorganization, purge or simply love what you’ve created. Regardless - I’m here to help and although many consultations follow the same format, every space ends up being so much more than any catalogue, Pinterest page or IG scroll can reflect. My job is well done if each space reflects the ones that turn the lights on. #designer See more

The Renderings of the Main Bathroom are ready for client presentation at our Ocean front project in Nova Scotia. Our latest ‘Before & After’. Horseshoe Lake - new owners, new lights, new look. I could write a chapter on the details of this kitchen design, however the only thing to really understand is that - everything the client wanted is here!

This Pantry Rendering is ready to preview for our Clients in Nova Scotia at their ocean front property. We added a mosaic wall for concept only as we're still looking for the perfect hues. Penny Cork was added to the interior of one side of the 'step down' cabinet and otherwise, there are lots of 'tuck away' spots in this little chef's pantry. Oh - and let's not forget the oyster chandelier...why not, as the vacation home is only 30' from the water!
