Well that’s a wrap! After 5 years, we’re closing the door on Cabrito but not on the memories. Thank you for helping us create a place for music and dance, good friends brought together through food and sharing. Thank you to our staff who have helped us over the years to make Cabrito place known for knowledgeable and friendly service. We have been lucky to have a lot of long standing staff and it is a wrench to say goodbye to them. Thank you.... We want to thank our suppliers for helping us to create the quality dishes using the finest of local and imported product and ask you to please continue to support small businesses in the community when you can - whether it’s buying some fresh bread from one of the many local bakeries, ordering wine and beer and cider direct from many of the local producers. We also invite you to support some of the suppliers who have helped us in the past. Many of them have come up with great ideas to get us through these tough times. Two Rivers Specialty Meats Bosa Foods Oyama Sausage Co. on Granville Island Glorious Organics Cooperative Sapo Bravo Organics @donfrancisco Ubuntu Canteen Beyond Bread #albionfarmsandfisheries Blundell Seafoods Ltd. @oysterandking Cioffi's Meat Market & Deli Hives for Humanity From the mural on our wall created for us by Yared Nigussu Art Lab - Studio to the talented musicians and dancers that graced our stage, from the very beginning musicians and artists have played a big role in creating a unique atmosphere at Cabrito. Please continue to support our local musicians and flamenco artists. Many are doing live shows on Facebook and you can support them by tuning in and supporting their live gigs when they are able to resume. Without you it wouldn’t have been the same. We’ll meet again one day. In the meantime, take care of yourselves.

Hola amigos. Thanks to everyone who ordered paella and bought provisions over the last few days. We so appreciate your love and support. We have a few things left. Today is our last Day! We'll be open 12-7.

We are pausing online orders for paella right now due to your generosity! If you received a confirmation from Alex, please pay for your order according to the directions he sent you. Limited portions will be available for drop-ins. Please remember to respect social distance rules. We will be serving one customer at a time. Thank you for your patience with us.

Cabrito 11.08.2020

Hello everyone, Once again we want to thank you so much for all your online orders. We were literally overwhelmed with your generosity. Unfortunately we've been unable to supply everyone with all that they would want due to some shortages. We have decided to suspend online orders for wine and provisions at this time. We will remain open today between 1pm and 8pm. We still have some limited wine, charcuterie and cheese platters to offer. ... You may drop by to shop - we will be limiting customers to one at a time inside the location and asking you to maintain physical distance. On Saturday, we will have paella to go available from 5pm at a price of $16 per portion. If you would like to order paella, please send an email to [email protected] with your name, email address, telephone number and the number of portions you would like. We will send you a confirmation and then ask you to come and pick it up. We really appreciate your patience as we all adjust to these new realities. Once again, thank you for your love and generosity. See more

Hola amigos, We wanted to get in touch to update you with some news from Cabrito. The last 5 years have been a blast and we’ve been fortunate to welcome you at Cabrito and share this place where we were able to combine our love of music, Spanish food and sharing with friends. You are part of the reason it has been so special and for that we wish to thank you. Your support has meant the world to us. Times are different now and it is time to turn the page. I...t is with some sadnesss and bittersweet mood that we are announcing that Cabrito will officially close on April 5th. We would have loved to have a big party as a send off, and of course, this is not how we planned things but we know that many of you are experiencing life now in a way that is other than planned. So we will move on and focus on the bright moments that will be ahead. For our last week with you we will be bringing you a taste of the delicious quality local and imported products we’ve always been proud to serve at Cabrito for you to enjoy in your home. For a limited time, you can visit Cabrito Provisions - our Deli Shop. Now’s your chance to enjoy a variety of wine & beer from Spain at greatly reduced prices, local craft beer, cider, cheese and charcuterie platters, Txistorra, as well as a safe place to shop for high quality cupboard staples such as vinegar, olive oil, grainy mustard, marinated olives, eggs from rabbit river farm, Moja coffee, canned tomatoes & more. Cabrito Provisions will be open as follows: Thursday, April 2nd 1pm to 8pm Friday, April 3rd 1pm to 8pm Saturday, April 4th 1pm to 8pm with Paella to go available from 5pm Sunday April 5th 10 - 3pm and then we close the door forever. Please visit www.cabrito.ca/provisions for information about inventory and how to preorder for pickup or delivery. Once again, thank you for all your love and support over the years. Stay safe, be kind, help your neighbours and loved ones and stay home and enjoy some digital happy hours. Mucho amor and "distance hugs". Alex & the Cabrito Team

With a lot of sadness but the knowledge that it’s the right thing to do, we are pressing the pause button for the moment in an effort to keep us all safe. From today we are temporarily closing Cabrito. We’re all in this together and as difficult as it is for us, and our staff, we know it’s difficult for everyone right now. We want to thank you all for your love, and support. We’ll be at home keeping busy, coming up with new recipes and practicing our flamenco moves. (We’re actually getting pretty good). Stay safe, be kind, help your neighbours and loved ones. Mucho amor!

Hola amigos, Because we love you and want to protect our customers and staff, we want to assure you that we are taking precautions including our usual sanitizing of tables and chairs each visit and we will continue to wash our hands diligently like we always do. We wash our hands like we are cooking for your grandma. In addition, cleaning of high touch surfaces such as doors, and door handles has been stepped up. Our staff are being asked to stay home if they are sick or show...ing symptoms. We are following the advice of local and national health agencies. Likewise, as much as we love you, please stay home if you are showing symptoms or have been exposed to someone who has so that we can all look after and protect each other. We may not be giving out hugs but we’ll be smiling extra wide to welcome you and perhaps even an olé! It’s a particularly difficult time for all local restaurants and businesses so we encourage you to support your community in whichever way you can. Let’s meet the challenge head on. Lots of love to all of you.
