Time for a ski "poll"! While we take a break with this winter's CADS season due to COVID-19, your board of directors are taking this opportunity to take stock of our program and potential ways that we can improve. So, we want to hear some feedback from our volunteers, students, and family members of students as to how our program's location affects the accessibility of participating or volunteering with us. Click the link below to provide us with your invaluable feedback, and take part in shaping the CADS Edmonton program for the future!

CADS Edmonton is excited to announce that we are the proud recipients of the Sport Relief Fund by Jumpstart, the charitable arm of Canadian Tire. As one of 668 sport and recreation organizations across Canada who received this grant, we are honoured, and we thank Jumpstart for supporting our work in the Edmonton community! This fund helps community sport organizations like ours continue in providing access to sport and play for Canadian kids, which is more important now than ...ever before, given the unprecedented events of the past year. Because of Jumpstart’s support, we will be able to purchase important equipment like adaptive ski and snowboard equipment, PPE, and outdoor heaters, which are integral to accomplishing our goal of accessible snow sports for all! #SportReliefFund #Jumpstart #CanadianTire #CADS #ski #snowboarding #snowsports #adaptiveskiing #adaptiveathletes #adaptivesnowsports #backtoplay See more

Hello CADS Edmonton Members; We have just held our first board of directors meeting of the 2020-2021 season and have begun planning for our ski and snowboarding programs. While we would normally be planning aspects of our program like recruitment initiatives, registration and calendar, instead our conversations have shifted to how to operate safety with COVID-19 upon us. I’d like to briefly update you on some of our discussions and plans so far. We are hopeful that we can ope...rate our programs this coming season. However, to do so, we must take many precautions to ensure that we are not placing any of our members at undue risk. We are considering input from CADS National, CADS Provincial, our ski industry partners and AHS on what this means. For example, the recommendations suggest that we do things like - Pause our new member recruitment and only accept returning athletes and volunteers in order to minimize the need to train newbies which is often very hands on Minimize or stop close contact while teaching Adopt pre-screening, masking and sanitizing for all members Change the way we use our clubhouse to comply with social distancing Ensure that all equipment is sanitized after each use. All of these and more are under consideration with details to follow as we progress. Our membership is filled with amazing people who are dedicated to having fun on snow, either as an athlete, volunteer instructor or parent volunteer. So, to start we are asking for commitments from our volunteer instructors on whether they will be returning for another season and we will then decide on whether to pause for a season or carry on with modified programs. If we have enough volunteers, we hope to carry on. For the time being, registration is on hold until we have a plan in place, this should be sometime in Mid-October. In the meantime, thank you for your patience.
