Ok... time for some feels. Lily (of Lily Draws Things) has donated her handiwork for many years, working from pictures of our dearest companions to capture the memories we have. The time and heart that goes into these drawings is, erf... I have no words.... She does take commissions (in fact I'm pretty sure that's everything she does) and you really should check into her work if you want the best memories you can make. Not everyone (yes, fur-people are real people) who is in her gallery is still with us, but at the same time every one of them will be with us forever. To quote a great man in an awesome movie to lighten the mood, "Dogs and cats, living together... Mass hysteria!"
Ok... here goes the tech... a bit of a triple shout, but hey - time is money, life is short, eat desert first (or drink the scotch before or after dinner as you please). One of our long standing friends from south-western Ontario Jim Cumpson introduced us to both Milwaukee and Guillivan International. We're grateful to all of these folks for contributions over the last few years, regardless if it was awesome Red tools or bright shop lights to tune bows with (or help with my electrical questions).
So... promised some friends... and cool stuff. Over the last, oh... 10 years( more??) Mr. Andy Craig, Provincial Judge, archer extraordinaire (Esq. maybe? he does love horses) has sourced, purchased, donated (and occasionally up-bid) multiple examples of our favorite tool (no, not that one... the one that cuts things.... dirty buggers). Regardless of design, purpose or color (heh, lots of pink handles) these multipurpose-miscellaneous-material separators have supported our c...ause almost like nothing else... I guess you folks like cutty-bits. So thank you Sir Andy of the Craig, a friend amongst the best of peers... I'm missing the pic of the tiny cute ones... if anyone has it, please add.
Hoo boy... getting easier? So we have some beauty and Tech and a few friends left to go here. I'll spread this out a bit. Sadly I've not known the folks from Kintore for long (or well, you're due back at fish camp Brent) enough, but they have provided us with years of stunning things. So many of us love being outside, yet there's never a time when we don't like hand crafted, one-of-a-kind, I-have-the-one-and-one-only's. ... This is their stock and trade... the thing that was built for *our* home. If it's an accent serving board or a whole table, these folks build and cut the things we hang our tree stands from, peek around trying to get the perfect shot, or lament when it grabs and keeps one of our arrows forever!
Huf... last post was a little hard... Covid sucks and I miss folks. So, next biggun.... For those of you who (April.... lookin at you...) have been with us for many years, you know that for pretty much all of them we've done an Arrow.... It deserves a cap on that name. An ARROW. Our event's "gold medal" was never more than an arrow and an stained glass ribbon (*getting to that soon). Either given as a prize to our winners, or purchased to commemorate the event we've had one single supporter for as long as I've been involved. Those arrows have been provided by Shooters (pink, or muddy girl) and wrapped by Onestringer. Onestringer have also provided several *dozen* more wraps year after year for our prizes. Either as custom certificates or duplicates of the year arrows, they have supported us come hell-or-high-brush-where-you-lose-things-despite-having-flo-pink-fletch (dammit). Thank you Mindy and folks from Onestringer for always having our back, I'll never shoot anything else.
OK, so ... I have a few more. I can't leave yet... we're not quite done. Not to diminish those who's names I haven't mentioned, but there are a few folks that (despite the expired time on the event, which never really expires) we cannot pass up. Those who year after year after year have supported us personally and as a business. Going to call out Belgian Nursery and Three Feathers now. Not because they don't deserve mentions on their own, but because they are inseparable. Both Luc and Rosemary are true friends to all of us. As mentor (to me personally for shooting advice, and a good friend personally both of you) and as members of our community. Contributors to the event year after year (pink flowers and pottery everywhere!), and a mainstay for those of us in this area.
And then there was lunch... this one I just can't not do now. As always, our catering was provided by the Wild Boar food truck. I do love posting the beard! Sean and crew outdid themselves as always, and in memory of his friends Kindra Tutton and Dave Brubacher he contributed the sides for this year free of charge! Our thoughts are with you and your friends... and the mac and cheese.
Ok... one more for now... A new product on the market to assist us all in becoming better, more consistent archers! Bowdometer has contributed 5 of their bow mounted sensors to lucky folks. I'm sure they'll find a new level of performance and consistency once they get them mounted. We also received a few mounts and Bowdometer wraps specifically for the shoot... sounds like the color this year is PINK!
I... borrowed... the shirt just cause I think it's pretty cool looking. The folks from Last Chance Archery sent us several items, (including 2 bow scales and some fletching glue) to get us all shooting like champs. Last Chance makes tools and products we can all use, please check em out!
As always, our friends from Onestringer furnished us with several dozen wraps, as well as schwag and gift certificates for custom wraps! Yep... that's Rosie on there for 2020, and I'm sure that if anyone wishes to have some for themselves Onestringer can reprint these for a custom arrow size.
Our friends from Scorpion Strings donated 6 (count em, 6!) sets of strings. That's a lot of new threads for our archers... we're going to have some pretty nice lookin bows out and about this spring.
Wow... someone take my camera away... while I didn't take pictures, Soirie Cakes donated a cake for our raffle (sadly not the pizza one shown here... mmn, pizza) and some cupcakes (ours had strawberries, but the ones here are very colorful) and a Gift Certificate for a custom cake!.
