Floral foam is to contemporary floristry what asbestos is to home building- dated and dangerous. @cultivatedbychristin

Dahlia - eternal love and commitment. She’s known as the Queen of the Autumn Garden. I couldn’t ask for a sweeter couple. #chantrybeachsouthampton #southamptonwedding

What is more irresistible than bringing home objects from the outdoors that were a witness to our enjoyment of nature? - @gerdverschoor

Humus - also known as leaf litter, is an organic, dark, carbon matter that can literally turn sand into soil. That mess your tree makes that you bag and take to the compost, is soil food. Help build #healthysoil buy shredding your leaves and build up your #humus.

When I think about the planet and the state that it’s in I often feel helpless. During #covid_19 I started seeds for my own #cutflowergarden to help spread the idea of #slowflowers and #sustainableliving in my community. As the season progressed I realized that these words are just words that people have been using and often the words become meaningless. I tag #biodiversity in my posts. Why? This is the most important word to become acquainted with or even make your new modo.... We have replaced biodiversity with regimented monoculture. What does that mean? It means our lawns are bio diverse deserts. The more plant species you can put on your plot of land the healthier your soil becomes. The wilder and more diverse the better. I have heard people say they don’t like trees because they make a mess. That mess feeds your soil!!! Your soil needs that mess to feed your plants. #davidattenborough has it right when he said society has become apart from nature and we must become a part of nature. I have invested into my sons education but #gretathunberg is waking us up that there might not be a point for that investment. I believe there will be a turn in society, when people see that single crop (#monoculture ) can be improved on. I believe society will wake up and not just plant 1 tree but to start looking at plants as food for us, #soilhealth, #polinators and share seeds with each other. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one #johnlennon. When you have understood change on your own land you will begin to see change in your town, province and eventually our country. Start with your own land it’s only the beginning. DM me for free pollinator seeds. @everesttrees has beautiful fruit trees too See more

I just learned from @ted that colour can effect our mood, decisions and focus. The speaker said that monochromatic rooms can reduce productivity, reduce ingenuity and even create depression. It makes me wonder why when you google home design the most monochromatic tones pop up first. Which picture brings you more joy? Possibly colour is needed in your life #happiness #imagination #focus

This made in Canada piece of history has been the answer to reduce and reuse. Too many times were there flowers delivered in generic vases to a point where people are either donating them or storing them in random places. When I started my business I thought it would be nice to have a loyalty program and get away from over produced, prescribed, wholesale glass vases. This is not a recyclable item. My #crownmasonjar can be returned to me in exchange for a flower discount. This is one of the many things I have done to #reduce my impact. #climatechange #slowflowers #madeincanada #reuse
