Meeting of the minds

This pair has been so much fun to work with over the years. I started this horse as a 3 year old (maybe he was 4?), he is on my list of favourites. He was smart, fun, willing, sensitive and from the first ride I remember thinking this horse is the full meal deal, he’ll go all the way! I’m so proud of this picture. Here they are trying one of their first ever steps to pirouette. This rider does not always have the luxury of in person lessons and she boldly suggested online lessons before they were cool. I love open minded forward thinking folks. Here’s to many more years with your amazing boy.

We don’t just love animals and ranching. We also have a great love of people. Why else would anyone work through this polar vortex to feed the world.

What can one say about a girl and her horse? This lovely horse is a step up for this young lady. The horse has a great work ethic and the kid has a laughter that makes your heart sing! I can’t wait to see what the new year brings for this young rider.

DJ is a very knowledgeable and highly skilled horsewoman. I feel very lucky to have a horse that she has spent time training and is now coaching me on. Each les...son has multiple ah-ha moments mixed with lots of fun. DJ is open to all horse/rider combinations and provides a safe environment to learn and grow. Thank you, Cairns Ranch, for your commitment to the equine industry.

This was a new pairing this season and oh what fun we had. T had some amazing days riding her new mount Que. There were some big smiles and long pats as these two learned to dance together. Lots was learned about lateral movements and suppleness. I can’t wait for there to be some shows so they can show off

I have to admit I was little afraid to coach this rider when she first booked lessons. Don’t get me wrong, she is the most amazing human being. She is, however, highly qualified and decorated in her own sport of being a jockey. She has such a willingness to learn about dressage and biomechanics that no fear was ever needed. What can I say about Mr. Janko other than he brings ALOT to the table. This pair interests me beyond measure.

So much is represented in these photos of this little and her pony. Her and I go way back........Like 20 years of coaching is invested in this kid!! I am not getting old.

Nolan and I were bad again. The receiving pen went from 0-5 in very short order. One yearling came from Northern, AB/ Georgina Bowerman, one weanling came from Northern BC/ Wilson Creek Andalusians, one weanling from the Bar-Lynn production sale and the remaining two were purchased at the Boyes Production sale. Three Quarter Horses, one Iberian Warmblood and one Oldenburg/Arab. We will have a busy winter looking after babies.

The biggest day of the year here on the ranch. Branding Day. The camera chick was lazy and didnt get any pics of the actual processing so roundup photos will have to do. Even the WB got in on the action today. Prettiest gathering horse in Sask.

New to the fleet of excavation equipment is the Takeuchi mini excavator! This machine better equips us for work in compact areas and can tackle your more delicate jobs. All to better serve you!

I’ve ridden this horse a lot. She’s lovely. Owner would like something a little smaller as she’s short. Lots of good training to build on.
