Yesterday I photographed an incredible wedding with one of the most incredible diversions- a second ceremony at Aven's Manor JUST for the grandparents and complete with bag pipes to which a very delighted grandmother remarked- "just like home." What a day Lauren and Sean- every detail made your special day an intimate reflection of you. Thank you for inviting me along to capture the adventure. <3

Today, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, I, as a non-Indigineous northerner have so much to be thankful for. I have spent my life in a mad love with this land and its people. As a child, our family was lovingly gifted a baby brother from a beautiful Inuvialuit family. As an adult, I have built a career photographing huge love shared by all northerners. This is the amazing Rassi. But everyone already knows that :) She was the face in our homes every week on CBC's Igalaak, s...he has served as a translator, leader in community health, YWCA board member, and her latest role- incredible grandmother. Her smile is radiant and I look forward to every Spring when it lights up my studio. Rassi, I am thankful for you and your family, and an entire territory rich in culture full of people who have always liberally shared stories, tradition, and love. Happy Indigenous Peoples Day, everyone. I am grateful.
