I thought it was because of my shyness. I had a lot to learn. I’m sure everyone in the audience noticed my leg shaking like a vibrator switched to high speed. Right from my hip to my toes.... This was the first of many presentations I delivered when I returned to university when I was in my late forties. It was humbling to have my body react to the stress of public speaking and seemingly have a life of its own. The sensation was that of an observer with my body belonging to someone (or something) else. Over the past few months and even more so over the past few weeks I've had clients reach out for help with their online presentations/communication. I've heard (and felt) the stress and urgent need to communicate online and do it with confidence. I've had inquiries about how to manage 1:1 meetings, team meetings, state of the unions, and board meetings in a landscape that is quite different than pre-COVID.... For many the need to be on point with online communication has blindsided them. A number of my clients preferred in person meetings but now that's usually not possible.
