Well, we just love us a cat on a leash! Meet Cosmo! He is one cool cat!
Have you noticed a baby belly or two running around the clinic lately?? Yesterday was a special day as we showered our mommies to bee, CCR Jade & RVT Clarisse with goodies for their soon to be growing families. We can’t wait to meet the newest members of the CMVH Family! Special thanks to @wonkyspatulabaking for the absolutely adorable and super delicious cake!
Our pets are patients too! Handsome Kilo is CCR Jade’s marshmallow! He was in this week for a dental and mass removal. Jade is expecting a baby in just a few weeks and wanted to make sure her big boy was in tip top shape before she pops!

October is RVT Appreciation Month in Ontario so this week is all about our RVT's! Let's get things started with Nicole! Nicole joined the CMVH team as a co-op student when she started in the Vet Tech program at Sheridan College in 2018. She worked with us on our VA Team while she was in school and then joined our RVT team when she graduated in 2020. Nicole has been a great addition the the CMVH team, with her quirky sense of humour and constant thirst for knowledge she fits ...right in! Here are some fun facts to help you get to know Nicole: What is your most used emoji?: I use this emoji when something melts my heart or when I see something adorable. Oh, and when I want something like an iced coffee, please? What is your favourite TV show?: Vikings! Lagertha is hands down my favourite fictional character. Who doesn’t love a shield maiden? Do you collect anything?: Books! I love decorating my book shelf with knick knacks that are relative to the books I read. My favourite is the House of Night series. #nerdherd As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?: A rockstar! My parents played a ton of 80s rock when I was a kid and I really wanted to be on stage. What was your favourite band 10 years ago?: Avenged Sevenfold! My bestie from high school and I would drive around town and jam out to their music.
Cutie patooties Maverick & Harley were in a few weeks ago for their annual exams and photos on the CMVH carpet ... it’s like the red carpet, but cuter
Oh dear! Silly puppy Freddie Mercury decided to chew on some concrete and broke one of his baby teeth! Puppies will be puppies! Luckily his mom and dad already got insurance set up for this little cutie to help with any other mischief he might get into!

Today’s Senior Sweetheart is Zoey Zoey is just the cutest little house hippo (aka mini Sharpei) who recently celebrated her 10th Birthday! Her tiny human made the cutest bead charm that Zoey proudly wears on her collar. Zoey was in to see us for some recheck blood work to keep an eye on her kidney levels that had been elevated.

VA Tanya getting some snuggle time with tiny little Reuben who was in for a vaccine booster yesterday
We thought you all might like to see what goes on in the surgery suite when one of your furry family members comes in for an orthopedic surgery. Watch Dr. John perform a TPLO surgery as well as patient prep and clean up all in under 1 minute The focus is a bit off, but we will get it right next time! This was so much fun to watch so we will definitely be sharing more of these in the future.
Sweetest little Bandit was in to see us today for a Mast Cell Tumor to be removed. A mast cell tumor (MCT) is a type of tumor consisting of mast cells. A mast cell is a type of white blood cell that can be found in many tissues of the body. Mast cell tumors most commonly form nodules or masses in the skin, but can also affect other areas of the body, including the spleen, liver, intestine, and bone marrow.... MCTs are actually one of the most treatable types of cancer. The higher-grade tumors can be more difficult to treat but the lower-grade tumors are relatively simple to treat and surgery alone can provide the best long-term control, and chemotherapy is not typically required.
