This month is intended to celebrate our service achievements and increase public awareness of what our services are and why they are an important part of the health care system. Caledon Meals on Wheels has a lot to celebrate this month as we facilitate a wide variety of programs! We will be remembering all our Meals on Wheels volunteers, both fresh and frozen, from October 5th -9th as it is Meals on Wheels week! ... October 7th is Congregate Dining Day and we will be celebrating our Senior Social Programs. October 11th is Friendly Visiting Day and we will be thinking of all the clients we have had! Community support services support over one million Ontarians each year including seniors and people with disabilities. They help clients live independently in their own homes and communities as long as possible, and reduce the burden on family caregivers and other parts of the health care system. As Ontario’s population ages, community support services will become even more important.
