The US women's soccer team, which relative to the men always wins, has highlighted the gross discrepancies in remuneration and resources between the two sexes. It is no surprise to see the same structural inequalities in the sport of cycling. In 2015 a group of French women started to ride the Tour de France route the day before the popular male-only event.
