What's the process to sell a your bike? Bring your bike to the swap between the sell your bike times on the website. We'll tech check it, record its serial nu...mber and you'll sign an agreement to sell You price your bike and give us $10 if you're a member of AMA or $15 if you're not to get your bike into the swap. You go away and we mail you a cheque or e-transfer you the money less 13%. We have 12-15 buyers/bike, so if you've priced it correctly (we'll guide you), then it'll sell since we have a 95% sell rate. The process to buy a bike? Stand in line and ooohhh and aaahhh at every bike that goes by. The first few hundred people will pay $2.00 to get into the swap. This money is donated directly to a local group to fix the donated bikes. What's the process to donate a bike? A volunteer will help you unload your bike(s) and we'll thank you kindly for your donation. That bike will be fixed by a local group, then that bike will help a local person (including a child) with transportation and joy. So, where does that money go? We donated ~$8K last year to fund safe cycling, pledge cyclists in the Ride to Conquer Cancer and the MS Tours, and help groups fix bikes. SInce we are a non-profit all of this information is accessible through the Government of Alberta. We (Chris and Laura) put in ~$9K of our work salaries to fund the swaps because they are not self-sustaining, and I (Laura) was just laid off.
