The importance of being #COVIDWise in sport: https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca//how-one-sports-practice-in-otta Moving into the new year we will be sharing best practices with our membership so we aren't a source of outbreaks. Together we can work through this. #cusayyc #lovethegame

Meet Jean Claude and @swb_yyc This is a person I look up to, admire and am ashamed I cannot be more like. Jean Claude runs Soccer Without Boundaries and gives... refugees, and kids maybe without the equipment due to economic situations, the means to play soccer and enjoy the beautiful game. I mentioned it to @nicogonzo7 and @hayleygonzo7 because their friend @joel.malouf does amazing things for Soccer Without Boundaries also, and they showed up with a bag of used gear and said please give this to Jean Claude. This made me think, so tonight I took 15 minutes and easily found some items I have been hoarding for no real good reason. I should be more like Jean Claude, so I rounded up some items, and will bring to the store tmrw for him to pick up. I started thinking okay there’s a lotta great people on here that also probably have 1-2 items they don’t need anymore and have maybe had their time for them, but could make someone’s else’s December. A pair of worn shoes is a pair of brand new shoes to some. A pair of gk gloves that aren’t grippy anymore, will put a smile on a kids face who has no goalie gloves. An old jersey that no longer fits can make a young person feel like Ronaldo or Messi. So here’s my challenge - can you take 15 mins and come up with anything, bag it up and bring it to the store ? Let’s give Jean Claude so much stuff that we fill his @swb_yyc Van to the brim ! You have at minimum another week off soccer, so use it for those who can’t play without help. 1. Post a pic of the items and tag @soccershack in it so we can repost and spread the word 2. Tag 3 people to help spread the word 3. Drop the swag off at the Riverbend location 4. Get good vibes in return ! #yyc #calgarysoccer #calgary @calgaryminorsoccer @calgarywomenssoccer @calgaryunitedsa

When you can't play the beautiful game, what do YOU do? Finding positive ways to channel your energy is key right now. Challenge your team mates to keep up their fitness, by setting daily, weekly goals with periodic checkins with an app or Zoom meet up. Who on your team has the best juggling skills? Can anyone on the team best them? Why not set a challenge? #lovethegame #cusayyc

How much does your family rely on sport? Are you a single or multi-sport family typically? What outlets are you using currently to channel your drive for sport and related activities? So many questions, but we want to know :) #lovethegameyyc #cusayyc
