This is an X-ray of a 2 week old puppy. Look at how far the bones have to grow before they become a proper bony joint! This is why you should never let puppies... jump, walk up/down stairs, over exercise or over train. Doing to much impact activity at a young age will cause serious issues later in life, or even at a young age as hip dysplasia and other orthopaedic conditions are rising in puppies! Remember the puppy rule for every month increase activity by 5 minuets! For example an 8 week old puppy only needs 10 minuets physical activity a day - a 6 month old only needs 30 minuets a day of physical activity!! *physical activity includes - going for a walk, training, playing fetch, running, playing with other dogs etc. Enjoy your new puppy but remember you wouldn't make a 6 month old baby run a mile a day so don't make your puppy either!

EDUCATIONAL ALERT! This is Koda, a friends dog. She ate half a cheesecake. The cheesecake was made with xylitol instead of sugar to reduce the calories. Kod...a fought for days but did not pull though. I'm posting this because xylitol awareness needs to be something we are all conscious of as advocates for our pets. Many use xylitol because other sweeteners have bitter after tastes and xylitol does not. Supposedly it's safe for humans but if it's toxic for dogs, I would also think it's not the best for humans. I guess because it doesn't kill humans, manufacturers say it's ok. Xylitol is harmful to dogs in any amount, even deadly to many if it's not treated within 15 minutes of ingestion. There are so many products made with xylitol. It usually comes under the guise of SUGAR FREE. Follow this link for a list of products that contain this deadly compound. I was shocked to see it is even in some clothing. This is not a comprehensive list so be diligent. This exhausting chase is now over. There are no words to describe how happy I am to announce that I have Atlas back. My family and I want to thank the social m...edia world for the immense amount of exposure. I sincerely apologize for not getting back to so many messages from all you wonderful people about your concern for Atlas. The majority of my time spent with the police and my family to pinpoint where Atlas was. There were three people who were instrumental in recovery of Atlas, who will be getting the reward. Without their help, and the Kelowna Police I'm not sure when we would get Atlas back home. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who sent myself and my family kinds and helpful messages, and possible tips, you kept our spirits up in one of the most upsetting times of our lives. I hope this brings light to how amazing the social media world can be to spread light on something that needs exposure. Being reunited with Atlas is the best feeling ever.
