It’s a great day to park the fat bike, strap on the snow shoes and head on over to the Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park to help with the fat bike trail grooming operations. The Nordic Centre needs some help to pack the trails and make way for the Snow Dog. Normally for fat bike traffic only (due to user conflict with the ski trails), they are opening up the fat bike trails to snowshoeing until December 24th. Trails are: EKG East, FYI, EKG, Odyssey to Bow Trail junction..., Blue Coal Chutes, Long Road to Ruin, Rundle Connector and Orchid. If you can make it out to lend a hand, it would be a nice little bonus Christmas gift and help put smiles on fatbikers throughout the festive season. Happy Holidays and Happy Trails!

The Government of Alberta is currently seeking feedback to help inform them how outdoor recreation in Alberta can be better managed and improved on provincial Crown Land. This includes public lands, Alberta Parks lands, and protected areas. The survey is open until January 15, 2021 and can be found here: https://www.alberta.ca/sustainable-outdoor-recreation-engag... Let your opinion be known and speak up for mountain biking and access to safe, sustainable and maintained recreational trails in our province. #Canmore #mountainbike #recreation #trails #advocacy #crownland #publicland

As we wish our friends to the south a Happy Thanksgiving, we are also super thankful for some of our most committed volunteers this year. Each of these amazing individuals dedicated a ton of their personal time this past season and showed real leadership and devotion in helping us achieve some crucial milestones. These included completing the Powerhouse and Razor’s Edge Connector trails, making great progress on an exciting new phase of Quarry Lake Park, and creating an exten...sive Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policy that has already been put into action. We can’t be thankful enough for all the hard work that Chris Conner, Craig McLaren, Trevor Dingman, Greg Maciejewski, and Vaughn Bonsteel put in this year. And it’s not just us that think so! Our partners at SMITH thought it would be fitting to recognize these volunteers with some brand new SMITH gear. Each of our super volunteers received a prize pack consisting of a SMITH Session Helmet and Ruckus glasses. Thank you to SMITH for their amazing commitment to mountain biking trails and advocacy and thanks again to our amazing volunteers. Happy trails!
