Nunavut Housing Corporation (NHC) and Local Housing Organization (LHO) want to help keep tenants and everyone safe by ensuring these orders are followed. We all have a role to play. *** ANNOUNCEMENT *** CBHA Maintenance During COVID-19 To protect our staff and tenants, the CBHA will be providing only emergency services during the pandemic. Call 983-2242 to report any urgent concerns.... (M - F 5pm - 8:30am & weekends please call 983-5527) A work order will be issued after the following questions are answered: 1. Has anyone in your household travelled out of the Territory and returned since March 15? 2. Is anyone in your household currently self-monitoring, self-isolating or in quarantine? 3. Is anyone in your household currently experiencing any flu like symptoms (such as fever, aches, shortness of breath)? The CBHA will assess risk and wear the most appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include gloves, respirators and Tyvek suits. Please do not be offended as this is for everyone’s protection. Tenants are asked to cooperate by respecting the following measures: > Stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) away from all workers during the emergency repairs > Keep children away from maintainers > Unlock the door so that maintainers may enter without close interaction *** If tenants do not respect the above conditions, the Maintainer will immediately leave the unit *** Work orders will be issued only for the following emergencies: > Fire, smoke or burning smell > Electrical sparks > No heat > No running water > Fuel leak > Water or sewage leak/overflow > Plugged, leaking or frozen toilet > Broken exterior door or window > No power > Tenant locked in/out Please contact the CBHA if you are unsure if your request is considered an emergency or not.
