These photographs of leaves by Andreas Trauttmansdorff were previously purchased at Art Attic. They were from a series of photographs of leaves inspired by classic botanical illustrations. The intricate details, varying textures and natural aesthetic of the leaves attracted the artist. Each one was captured from both sides and the prints were presented as diptychs. The leaves were all suspended on a glass surface over a white background to create the appearance of an aged, cl...assic, botanical illustration. They were originally intended as purely analytical depictions of specimens. Through the elimination of any environmental context by using the stark white background, the beauty is brought to the fore as much, if not more than the clinical or scientific aspects of the subject. All the images were printed on Hahnemuhle archival fine art photo paper. @andreastrauttmansdorff Facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/atpix.ca Website: https://atpix.ca Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/andreastrauttmansdorff/ @andreastrauttmansdorff Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/atpix/ See more
