The Covid19 pandemic may have slowed down our ability to host in-person fundraising events but unfortunately it hasn't slowed down the requests for help from families in our community. For the past few months we have been busier than ever processing applications from local families with children facing a health crisis. We have moved to online fundraising campaigns as we try to keep up with the applications and to continue serving families when they need it most. If you can help us with our upcoming online auction we would be grateful! All funds go directly to Cameryn's Cause for Kids.

We have just updated our website with some links for youth and their families to access mental health care. If you or your child is experiencing a mental health crisis, please don't be afraid to ask for help.

It’s no secret that our youth are struggling right now. There are ways to reach out for help if your child is experiencing mental health difficulties. This arti...cle in The Mirror contains a couple of great links for accessing help. We also wanted to share a few more local resources that you may not know about. (Links below) FOUNDRY a great first step to access mental health care for young people. They have Walk-in Mental Health counselling and work with youth ages 12-24 years. (They provide guidance and help for the teens who have aged out.) Foundry also has substance abuse counselling, LGBTQ and family counselling available by appointment They specialize in mild to moderate cases but can refer you to more specialized care if needed. Another great resource in our community is UPPER ISLAND COUNSELLING, which is a non-profit organization. They offer an employee and family assistance program, private counselling and wellness workshops. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact either one of these organizations. You can also contact our office and we will be happy to provide you with some possible avenues to access help.
