Happy safe holidays everyone!Happy safe holidays everyone!
Hi all trained Camosun Bog Volunteers! The current Provincial Health Order is in place until Jan.8th. The recommendation that everyone close their social bubbles to those in their household and immediate family continues, and that outdoor gatherings not take place. As a result, we have decided to suspend restoration activities at this point and will not be restarting our programs until after Jan.8, 2021. Wishing you all a safe, healthy and happy holidays!... Metro Vancouver released an announcement about the record visitation to regional parks this year -- making it all the more important to protect sensitive ecosys...tems and meet the growing need for people to connect with nature close to home. This photo was taken in an area recently added to Codd Wetland Ecological Conservancy Area. The land purchase is a step towards one day opening the area to the public as a regional park. https://bit.ly/2JX3a8r See more

Ode to Camosun Bog Sundews This nature spot is a place of calm and beauty, The home of a rare ecosystem in the midst of our city.... Rare and strange plants await all who take a stroll, And YOU, my favourite the Sundew are a carnivorous troll. A wonder of nature gobbling up insects with no pity, If you weren’t so scary, I’d call you quite pretty. You live in a bog wetland of plant interconnectivity, All struggling to survive climate change and urban activity. You’ll survive my dear Sundew with all of your friends, As to save this loved nature spot we'll work to no end. Brian Woodcock October 5 2020
