Huge thank you to everyone who came out to support our bottle drive yesterday. We managed to fill 22 of the mega bags AND we received donations for our I Care 'Bout Camp Barnard Fundraiser totaling almost 5% of our goal... we just need to do that 19 more times! We've had a bit of wind and heavy rain damage over the past few months. Repairs have been made to the the dock with PVC to reinforce the piles, though the ramp still needs to be re-attached. A tree came down in the chapel and took out some of the benches... and lots of debris! Lots to keep the Camp Rangers busy.

Two for one fundraising opportunities! We will be having another bottle drive this coming Saturday at the Canadian Tire on Admirals in View Royal so bring on those refundable bottles and keep our volunteers hoping! Also, if you want to support our I Care 'Bout Camp fundraiser to replace Mor Kitchen and build the new Chil Lodge you can drop off a cheque with the volunteers. The volunteers that manage Camp Barnard knew that we would be doing lots of fundraising in 2020 and 2021, but didn't know it would be due to COVID-19 closing the camp. Here is why we had thought we would be fundraising like crazy! The plan developed in 2019 was to replace Mor Kitchen with a modern building that could more easily be shared and be more cost effective to operate. With the onset of COVID, we changed our plans. In an effort to limit the need for unrelated groups ...to share facilities we re-worked our plan. Phase 1 will be the development of Chil Lodge... an all season all-in-one facility ideal for all age groups and abilities. Once this project is complete, Phase 2 will replace Mor Kitchen with a smaller more seasonal facility. To do this we need your help! We're challenging everyone who cares about camp, and is in a financial position to help, to support this fundraiser. Our goal for this fundraiser is to have 1,000 donations of $100 with a total raised for $100,000. Donations can be made by cheque or on-line.
