You almost had us Harris Tweed though we have to admit we kind of wish this was true...would make for a more colourful countryside. In any case the beautiful cloth that Harris Tweed produces has been a staple of our recent capsule collections with Holt Renfrew and Holt Renfrew Ogilvy in the past few years used by iconic Canadian labels like SMYTHE and Line the Label. #choosewool
Congratulations to our CEO (Matthew) and Board Special Advisor (Justin) on being given the Freedom of The Worshipful Company of Woolmen, a Livery Company of the City of London (UK), during a virtual ceremony earlier today. Livery companies are part of the ancient guild system which once controlled trade in England's biggest city. The Woolmen are known to have existed as early as 1180 but were officially incorporated a few centuries later in 1522. The Woolmen are still in...volved in the global wool trade and both of our Board members were delighted to be asked to join and to provide some Canadian representation to this global group. In addition to its role in the industry, The Woolmen's Charitable Trust supports research into appropriate wool related procedures and practices; provides bursaries for students of wool, textile, design, wool marketing and retailing and it awards prizes and medals for sheep shearing at the major agricultural shows. The Company is also a partner of the global Campaign for Wool. #ChooseWool #LanaSpesNostra #WoolIsOurHope
Our work sure does get around. The 100% Canadian wool bust of our Patron created by Rosemarie Péloquin is currently on display in Ottawa in the Office of the Canadian Secretary to The Queen. Wool has a long history of being near the seat of power (in some cases literally like with the wool sack that sits in Britain's House of Lords and used to sit in the Canadian Senate). ... We are thankful to the Privy Council Office for providing the latest venue to show off the beauty and versatility of Canadian wool. #choosewool
At the heart of all the work that we do in Canada is the Canadian sheep farmer. Looking back to our recent visit to Topsy Farms on Amherst Island. #choosewool
Happy first day of Spring! #choosewool

A portion of the proceeds from every item sold goes to support the work of the Campaign in Canada.... Check out the collection here: https://sykes-ainley.ca #woolgoals #choosewool
Our design partner Sarah Richardson recently updated the episode where she unveils the 100% Canadian wool rugs she designed in partnership with Creative Matters Inc. to celebrate the global 10th Anniversary of The Campaign for Wool. Grown on Canadian farms like Breezy Ridge, spun in New Brunswick at Briggs & Little Woolen Mills Ltd. and then knotted by hand at a fair trade facility certified by Swiss NGO Label STEP, these pieces are true works of art and show that Canadian ...wool can create products of the highest refinement. In honour of Robbie Burns Day we look back on the beautiful Canadian designed coat created by Line the Label for our Holt Renfrew 2020 capsule collection using gorgeous Harris Tweed handwoven in the islands of the Outer Hebrides on Scotland's North-West coast. This iconic fabric is the only textile to be protected by Act of Parliament and is still made in the style of past centuries using virgin Scottish wool that is spun and woven on the Isles of Harris and Lewis. #ChooseScotland #ChooseCanada #choosewool
Sending best wishes to our colleagues in the UK who are dealing with snowier than usual conditions. Canadian sheep know a thing or two about snow and are no doubt relieved that wool keeps them warm and dry all winter long. #choosewool
