Hej fran Sverige! It’s always a bit of radio silence as we pack up camp and I jet off for a new school year in #Sweden. Just wanted to take a moment to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone for an awesome #Summer2020! . To be honest, I was terrified entering this summer. We are living in a different world right now and everyone has different experiences and limitations. I never imagined running camp through a pandemic but here I am, & I can check that one off the list. ... . This summer was amazing because we didn’t let the fear of #Corona stop us from learning, growing and playing. We changed our routines, adapted our program, and enhanced our cleaning practices. We couldn’t play #CaptureTheFlag or compete in a camp-wide game of dodgeball, but we made the best of a sour situation. We are grateful for the support of our camp families, the community, and our fellow camp directors for buckling up and navigating this craziness with us. . Coronavirus challenged us to think outside the box, to plan differently, and to make changes we never would have considered before. I’m very proud of my team for delivering a fantastic program, adapting to the situation and staying positive. The energy and enthusiasm never faltered. What’s exciting is that some of the changes we made will be implemented for summers to come because they worked so well. . We had an amazing week creating art based off of some great children’s books! The purpose of the theme was to inspire creativity and share the message that ANYONE can be an artist! Some of our books included The Dot, Sky Colour, Ish, Not A Box, Not A Stick & Beautiful Oops. . On Tuesday we begin our #Tokyo2020 #Olympic opening ceremonies!
