Please see below the note from Camp Chiefs Ron & MIchelle regarding this year's DIBC. To all campers and staff members Due to the covid-19 virus that has infected a huge majority of the world this is where we are with the 2020 DIBC camporee. Our dream is that everything would be sorted out and the borders would be open by mid-April. And we can hold our camporee May 8-9-10 but..... Here is where we are today: The government of Canada and the USA have imposed a series of border restrictions from the USA to Canada in hopes of getting ahead of the virus and its attack on the general population. As well all non-essential businesses have closed here in Canada. The schools have also been shut down and not sure when they will re-open. Currently Scouts Canada has all scout camps shut down until this is all sorted out. We are not clear how long these shutdowns will be in place for but it is possible that they may be in place until September of 2020. Due to all this we will be cancelling the 2020 DIBC Camporee and continue it in 2021. We want to make sure that the health and well being of all our members Canadian and American are looked after. We will use all paid deposits to secure your spot for May 7-9 2021. The theme will be Vikings. We are saddened to have to make this decision however we feel this is the best decision for the health and welfare of everyone. Sincerely, Ron Patterson and Michelle Sherman
