Meals on Wheels is in need of volunteers for regular and spare driver positions. We are looking for 3 volunteers for weekly commitments for about a 1 hour driver for our Monday North, Tuesday South and Friday South routes. When drivers need time off, we always have other part-time (spare) drivers to fill in. Snow birding, fishing or whatever your time is needed for, we can always have a route filled in when a regular driver needs time off. We are dreadfully low with our spare driver volunteers too and have space for random drivers (at their convenience) to pick up routes when regular drivers are not available. These call outs are for whenever a volunteer feels up to or has time to drive when we need routes filled. No real commitment to one's busy schedule.We just moved down our list of volunteers until a route is filled.

We did it! Another year of Meals on Wheels in Campbell River. 2015 sees us into our 41st year (or since records were kept, lol). It took lots of our community members over several decades to bring this wonderful program to where it is today and we all thank the past drivers, coordinators, board members and benefactors for building it up to this substantial setup we have. Thank you all for your warm birthday wishes and kind words. Hats off to 2015. Vroom, vroom and away!

MERRY CHRISTMAS CAMPBELL RIVER! A reminder to clients and their friends and family, that the office will be CLOSED December 25 & 26, then January 1st. NO MEAL DELIVER on December 25 and January 1st so our volunteers can spend time with friends and family. Please notify the offices in advance if you need to change your meal schedule (cancel or add meals). We can add extra meals onto the day before "no meal" service days to compensate for the last service day.

We will be paying our respects to our Veterans tomorrow and the office will be closed November 11. Meals however are still being delivered by our kindhearted volunteers. Tuesday, November 11th, Remembrance Day Events, Campbell River... Parade & Gathering begins at 10:30am with a march down Shoppers Row to the Cenotaph at Spirit Square for a time of silence and the laying of wreaths, lest we forget. Free Admission to view ‘Our Cenotaph’ exhibit at the Campbell River Museum, 12-5pm.
