Campbell Amusements 21.10.2020

It's official. There will be no Festivals in New Brunswick in 2020. Shaunna Drummey posted this... It says it all. Shauna Drummey is with Sonya Dolan and 20 others.... 3 hrs Obviously we are sad and stressed about the uncertainty of our livelihoods in the amusement business but beyond that, it's the faces we look forward to every year on our route. It's the lady that comes for a coffee everyday in Trenton and makes us laugh. The man with cerebral palsy that lives for when the fair comes to town and becomes part of our crew for 2 weeks complete with hard hat and in full uniform. It's the Autistic boy that follows our whole eastern route with his Dad and follows us from spot to spot and brings us goodies and cases of beer in appreciation for being kind to his boy that we all watch grow up. It's the people that look forward to us coming to town and meet us as soon as we pull in the parking lot to set up and catch us up and the whole winters events. It's the old carnies that come to watch us set up, and tear down and remember their old days in the business, the older gentleman who comes to park in the same spot everyday to watch the races with his little dog that we feed ice cream to, the people, the regulars that we don't know by name, but we know their order before they get to the window. My group of friends that come to see us every year and I make them special treats and concoctions because they come every day for 10 days straight to support us. We make friends and relationships with the people in the towns we go to and support their business year after year, the hair dressers, the restaurants, the nail lady, the mechanic, the stock guys and suppliers. We will certainly miss all of those things most. Take care everyone, stay healthy so we come back and pick up where we left off in 2021 See more

We, like everyone else, are waiting to hear when restrictions are eased. At this time we are cautiously optimistic that we can get open for July. When we know something for sure, we will post it here and on our website. Even when restrictions are eased, we will be working much differently than in the past. We will be taking precautions to avoid a resurgence of the virus. Keeping our staff and customers physically separated, disinfecting areas of our equipment that people touch and other protocols to protect people will be put in place.

For an industry whose long-standing motto is the show must go on, the events of the past weeks have been a staggering shock to all of us. The simple truth is that the very thing that makes going to the carnival so thrilling the shared, communal experience is the reason it doesn’t mix well with the concept of social distancing. So, it is a disappointing but necessary reality that events, and mass gatherings around the country have to cease, temporarily, in the midst of... this global health crisis. Due to the requirement to cancel gatherings of 250 people until April 15, 2020, all events have been cancelled during this time. We are navigating an unprecedented situation in real time, and ask for your patience. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on our website as this situation evolves to ensure the health and well-being of our patrons, and crew before anything else. When this unexpected intermission comes to an end and, make no mistake, it will come to an end we’ll once again gather at the Fairs and Festivals, sit beside one another in the cookhouse, and laugh, cry, and cheer together in unison. When that day comes, the chance to take part in this great tradition will feel more special than ever before. We can’t wait to pick up right where we left off! See more

We get hundreds of messages and questions every day. Sorry we can't answer them all in a timely fashion. Here is some information that will answer many questions at once. The rides we have in the Maritimes are: Scooter (Bumper Cars) Scrambler Wacky Shack... Orient Express Gondola Wheel Jalopy Junction Vertigo Slide Freak Out BERRY GO RND BUMBLE BEE BOP CAROUSEL Construction Zone Zipper Tilt A Whirl Where we are, when we open and how much do bracelets and tickets cost can be found on our website at www.campbellamusements.com As to what happens when it rains? Weather is a major consideration for a carnival. Many rides that have friction drives, (rubber tires on rim drives) will slip in wet weather. The Zipper, Rocking Tugs, Orient Express, Zero Gravity, Gondola Wheel and StarShip 2000 are examples. High rides such as the Zipper, Full Tilt, and Gondola Wheel can't run if there is a threat of lightning. If the weather is bad, we make every effort to open. If we can't open at the expected time we will wait and see if it clears. There is no answer. Thanks for your interest, we hope this info helps
