THROWBACK THURSDAY: Friday, September 18 is the 50th Anniversary of the passing of Jimi Hendrix. In 2015, Rolling Stone Magazine put him at the top of the list 100 Greatest Guitarists. Jimi's last concert was Sept. 6, 1970 on Fehmran Island, Germany. In September 2000 we were invited to play Fehmarn Island to help celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Jimi's last show. Myself, Bruce Moore on bass and Steve Preeper drums along with our manager Lennart Krogoll who took some pics. Thanks also to our good friend and great photographer Christian-Albrecht Groddeck. It was an honor to say the least!

THROWBACK THURSDAY, JUNE 4: This show was a blast! It was November, 2005. We were doing a CD release party at Bearly's House of Blues and Ribs for our new album... Weight Of The World, which went on to win 2007 ECMA Blues Recording Of The Year East Coast Music Association (ECMA) (ZYX Music Canada/Peppercake Records). It was the Sydney Steel album. That same week famed blues brother Dan Aykroyd was in town to promote his new business venture, Patron Tequila. This included a private promotional party with entertainment by the hottest band in the city, Horsepower Blues Band (Doug Mackay, Dave Gallant, Paul Melwood Mckinnon, Michael B. Jackson and JP Arseneault Gwen Arseneault). Rumor had it that Dan Aykroyd was going to drop in to Bearly's the next night. It didn't hurt that we were in the middle of a CD release celebration! There was me, Grant Leslie on bass and shuffle master Neil Robertson. Maple Blues award winner Shirley Jackson and Dave Gallant also sat in, played great and made it that much more fun! Shirley I wish I had better pics, but you sounded awesome! Dan Aykroyd arrived about midnight to a jam packed house. They all went nuts! Dan stepped up, said hello, blasted out Mojo Workin' and disappeared out the back door. Everyone stayed and partied on. It was wicked good fun!
