We love hearing motorcycles back on the roads, but more than that, we love to hear bikers make it home safely. To those of us with more than 2 tires, be aware of your surroundings, check your mirrors, check your blind spots, use your signal lights. #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork #DriveSafe #RideSafe
It was a beautiful day. We hope you got a chance to enjoy the outdoors!
I think I did all of them...

East Point, Prince Edward Island. A bit of ice in the Gulf of St. Lawrence versus the Strait! - Luke Chaisson
This is THE most precious thing you'll see this week. A seal found making its way down the sidewalk in Charlottetown was placed in the backseat of a city police cruiser and driven back to the water. It's PERFECT. Read more: https://www.cbc.ca/1.5922920
We'd like to give a shout out to Mr. Norbert Carpenter. We are guessing when he started his teaching career, spending a Saturday starring in a live public health emergency update video, wasn't on his to-do list. #AboveAndBeyond #ThankAnEducator #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork
Any day now we will be greeted with snowdrifts and icebergs instead of adorable paw prints.
Dear 2020; You brought new and strange experiences. You kept us on our toes and on the edge of sanity. You provided gorgeous weather for the few beautiful campers we were able to host. You showed us that teamwork makes the dream work in almost every circumstance. ... You broke our hearts when you kept away so many of the amazing humans that usually grace us with their presence. But you also made us happy to be able to see any campers at all, given the state of the pandemic around the world. We tried our best to adapt, to be kind, to be thankful and to be safe. We tried our best to listen to the science as it evolved. We regret not having bought stocks in lysol before the pandemic hit. You gave us new reasons to thank our campers. Like our #bestcampers that made it to The Cove and happily camped within the new safety protocols. #thankyou Or our kind campers who understood that cancelling their reservation was no one's fault in particular. #thanks And our supportive campers who told us to keep their one night's deposit when they were forced to cancel. #thankful Not to mention our optimistic campers who bumped their reservation and deposit to 2021. #lookingforward Every year we learn something and 2020, you were no exception. In fact, it feels like you wanted to set a world record for the biggest learning curve of the century. It was a good try, but The Mooneys have struggled more adjusting to technology than masks. While we appreciate that your hurricane warning didn't end up like 2019's hurricane, we'd still prefer you were not in charge of training 2021. Much love, (and a little good riddance) The Mooneys and crew
Our one tree that changes colors is definitely suggesting it's fall. But us Mooneys (and our one reservation this weekend) love off-season camping! 12 in the end of October is a great day for a beach walk.
Campground math: Some wind, plenty of space, one huge setting sun, a few clouds for effect, endless peacefully lapping waves and zero filters. #truepei #mothernaturedoesitbest
We genuinely appreciate Teddy only knocking over the sunflowers that were already falling.
We are always thankful for all the #bestcampers we're lucky enough to know. But when they take amazing sunrise pictures, we're even more thankful... because The Cove camera operator is a night owl.
Turns out our beach provides not only sandy walks, cool shells, sunsets, sunrises, wildlife and the best soundtrack... but also bass fishing! With a fishing pole and a bit of patience, you too can be as excited as Stella!
Unsure of how many "summer" sunsets are left, we are absorbing every one!
Seemingly undaunted by the larger, taller flowers, one finds its place in the sun (between the fence.) Try your best. Find sunshine. Avoid comparing yourself to others.... Be adaptable. Grow. See more
Instead of traumatizing our wildlife by following them around (trying to get close enough for a picture) we're thinking we should be looking for a longer lens. If anyone is willing to part with a zoom lens, please give a shout. We are willing to pay for one, just not a new price. (Our skills don't really justify such an expense. ) Thanks!
Cucamelon success!!
To all the wonderful humans who didn't get to PEI this summer; The ocean missed you (and is here waiting for your return.)
Today we measured our tallest sunflower. 7 feet 8 inches! (Basically how tall we imagine some of our kid campers will be by the time we see them next summer. )
We have the #bestcampers and we can't say it enough.
Yes, 2 of us just ate supper in the Kitchen Shelter amidst our disassembled painting projects. No, it was not quite as fun as Sunday Pot Luck Suppers.
Just when you think The Lobster Shack can't get any better, they pour you a drink!
When you try to take an adorable picture of a fast moving nine year old watering the Octopus Garden, but end up with... an arm that sprays water? #magic
This will soon be a cucamelon!
Business tip: Hire staff that may come to work with their mom's homemade biscuits. (Thanks Colleen! )
Best seat in the house!
"What are we growing here; a pickle?" -Jennifer "You can't GROW pickles! You can only MAKE pickles!" -7 year old camper Be a lifelong learner!
Last month, a couple of our campers learned one of the kids here had never seen a sand dollar. Today, those wonderful humans arrived back at The Cove with this collection of handpicked sand dollars for a 10 year old. When we say we have the #bestcampers we really mean it! (And the size of the 10 year old's eyes when they saw the sand dollars proves that teamwork really does make the dream work.)... Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who makes The Cove great by being themselves.
We pay for wifi, but that doesn't necessarily mean we get wifi. As always, we want to thank our #bestcampers for being so patient when trying to use internet here. Please know that the beach and the views provided by Mother Nature are much more consistent and enjoyable than the telecommunications.
We love a good sunset over the ocean.
