We are very pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Jasmine Morrell-Bellai to our team! She has recently returned from a valuable internship at a large equine practice in Wisconsin. She has special interests in dentistry and preventative healthcare. We will be accepting new patients at this time for her. Very excited to have her join us!
It's August, it is often a busy month for eye injuries. Flies, thinning pastures and the temptation to stick heads through fences all add to the things that happen in the hot summer heat. https://thehorse.com/16842/5-common-equine-eye-injuries/

If existing clients are in need of equine medication refills, we are offering free delivery within 20 minutes radius of the clinic. Outside the practice area, we can ship for a small fee by post. We are always accessible by email. [email protected] . Stay well.
Dr. Chris Gaul and Campbellville Equine Services are committed to providing ongoing emergency and urgent care for our clients and horses and implementing measures to limit the spread of COVID-19. We are continuing to see horses but ask that all clients pursue appropriate measures as well, to limit the spread of COVID-19. We wish to protect the safety and well being of our clients and staff, the office will continue to be manned, but will be closed to walk ins. Should you req...uire medication for your horse, please call/email ahead and it will be prepared and in a drop box by the front door of the office. After hours medications that are pre-arranged, can be picked up at a drop box at our home on Guelph Line. There could be some disruption in supply as couriers are trying to keep up. Next day deliveries may take an extra day. please plan according. We are doing some appointments but triaging accordingly. As normal, we invoice online and payment can be received online for convenience. If we all follow procedures, we can flatten the curve. Stay well. We are also readily available by email.

An interesting perspective.
We are fielding questions about EPM periodically. Don't encourage these to be your neighbor, in the cold. Unfortunately they are ill equipped for our climate (not native to Ontario- http://www.discover-southern-ontario.com/possum.html ) They look for a warm place, like barns..and hay to sleep on and spilled grain to eat.... . https://thehorse.com//opossums-the-scourge-of-a-horse-own/ See more
Foot bruises.... if you have not had one in your horse yet, you may at least one in your lifetime with horses. https://thehorse.com/150651/horse-foot-bruises/

makes me smile........
The Ontario Animal Health Network often has useful information on disease prevalence in Ontario. They track a number of existing diseases and keep an eye on emerging ones . PHF or Potomac Horse fever has been suspected in some late summer illnesses and confirmed in some others. Ask your veterinarian whether your area has potential risks. There is available vaccine but your vet will be able to advise you if it is a concern in your area and whether you need to include it in future vaccination protocols. Sorry office is closed early today at 2. Should you need a med refill for pickup, please leave us a message
A reminder........
We do stock a number of equine supplements. Equithrive, Comfort Gut and Platinum Performance among them.
If you are concerned about ticks that you may find on your horse, we have posted above an identification chart. If you wish further id, you can bring to the office the tick, whole preferably in a ziplock bag. Yes ticks are out in force but not all ticks carry lyme disease. If you have questions please drop us a email with good clear pictures if possible of drop off a specimen. For more information on ticks in Ontario www.wormsandgermsblog.com
