Happy #tongueouttuesday I absolutely love this picture of Wall-e, taken on our last backcountry trip. He’s always so happy to be out, it’s hard to feel tired when you look at him, even after a VERY steep decline we did here.

This weekend was spent at my absolute favourite place in Alberta. We always stay at Wabasso Campground because it’s a little more off the beaten path, althou...gh still packed with campers this time of year. The best site, by far IMO is A50. It’s right on the Athabasca river and it gives you views for days . Most of the sites don’t give much privacy, but this is just a price you have to pay to car camp in Jasper. There is ONE site I would recommend if you’re looking for privacy, A46. But if I’m being honest, I wouldn’t worry too much. Make friends with your neighbours and have a good time, that’s what camping is all about. Bears frequent this campground often. In fact we had one walk through our site this weekend . Keep a clean campsite and your pets leashed and you’ll be fine! Pyramid Lake See more

This weekend we took our foster pup Danny to @jaspernationalpark. He’s available for adoption via @cawsab Like all foster dogs, Danny needs a little work to finesse his manners but he has a huge heart and a lot of love to give. He loves biking, walks, camping and frolicking in the water. He only has three legs, but he doesn’t let that slow him down. His ideal family would be a place that already has a pup or two of their own and are moderately active. Danny will insist on at least one walk a day #adoptdontshop #fosterdogsofinstagram

Happy day! This weekend we decided to hike up to Three Isle Lake! This is a 11 km, rated difficulthike in, with 1.2 km elevation change. Pros: the views as you make your way up the mountain are incredible. There is also great fishing and with only 15 campsites it was relatively private. Cons: No fires allowed . Because you are so close to the tree line you can’t have a campfire and it also gets very chilly when the sun comes down. We also didn’t love the communal... area, which only had a few picnic tables. Pro tip: Sites 10-15 were much more private. They are separated from the rest of the campground, with their own storage lockers and almost every site had they own picnic table (a huge plus in the backcountry). We give this campground one paw up because the views were spectacular and the lake great, but we probably wouldn’t hike back to it again. It’s quite the climb and the decent was hard on the dogs shoulders. @ Three Isle Lake See more
