What does Peace mean to you? As we navigate through 2020, peace is taking on new meaning. COVID-19 and the urgent calls for action to support anti-black racism are challenging us and highlighting how the ongoing work of building peace is needed now more than ever. How can you participate in YMCA Peace Week? We encourage everybody to take part in activities that give them a chance to reflect on the meaning of peace and peacebuilding in our community.

National Child Day is celebrated in Canada on November 20 in recognition of our country’s commitment to upholding the rights of children. As a charity dedicated to helping children, families, and seniors thrive, we encourage you to take part in this initiative by Children First Canada. This year's theme is #SeenAndHeard. "Children represent a quarter of Canada’s population and 100% of our future. They are citizens with rights, opinions and ideas. Kids deserve to have a say in... decisions that affect their lives. And adults have a duty to listen. This year, we honour the contributions of young people from coast to coast to coast. We see you. We hear you. On National Child Day, lift your voice!" Learn more about how you can take part in this year's event at nationalchildday.org

We Need Your Help Our YMCA Beyond the Bell Program needs an additional $13,000 for this year’s operations. This program is special because it provides academic supports to low-income children in order for them to keep pace with their peers.... Through YMCA Beyond the Bell, children grow in their literacy, numeracy, and physical health. They are supported to reach their potential through our Y core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and inclusivity. Our hope is that this program becomes a lasting resource for low-income families, which will only be possible through support from our donors and fundraisers.
