This Fall we have created some new programs for families looking for an opportunity for their children to learn outdoors, whether it be as a break from remote learning or who would benefit from a healthy day of outdoor learning among peers each week. As we know Covid-19 is a fluid situation, so we have planned Early & Late Fall seasons in order to accommodate the greatest flexibility while maintaining clear cohorts. If there is enough interest, we will consider adding additi...onal sessions / days a week; so, please don’t hesitate to contact us or join a waiting list so that we are aware of interest. These are longer days than our Homeschool Programs to accommodate families who may need that. As with all our programming, we strive to inspire development of character and a deep respect for nature & taking care of the Earth. We learn through outdoor skills, naturalist studies, sensory awareness, games, imaginative play, exploration and lots of time in direct experience of nature in all conditions. In these ways, we tune into and ‘acclimatize’ to the rhythms of the seasons as they come and go. Our dynamic, experienced, caring team of educators facilitate a wide range of nature-based, environmental & artistic outdoor experiences that engage & inspire! rain or shine. More information, dates, rates and registration is all available on our website: https://campkawartha.ca/environmental/outdoor-day-programs/
Look at what the Camp Kawartha Summer Gardener, Carter, and volunteers installed at the Environment Centre! This Hoop House is going to be a great new addition for raising saplings and other plants! Thank you to the Mahoneys for your donation and assistance with this project.
