Kumo's Corner: Here's another activity from Nautica, our Expo Coordinator, to get your creative juices flowing!
Kumo’s Corner: Yoga is a great activity that helps kids to relax, relieve stress and anxiety, sleep better, improve emotional regulation, increase empathy, and improve mood. Here are some great YouTube channels offering free classes. YogaEd.- https://www.youtube.com/c/Yogaed/featured Cosmic Kids Yoga- https://www.youtube.com/user/CosmicKidsYoga
Kumo's Corner: Do you and your friends and family have what it takes to complete these Minute to Win It challenges? All you need are some common household items, 60 seconds on the clock, and you're ready to go! To take it up a notch, use the Minute to Win It timer and videos included to create your own Minute to Win It Game Show!
Kumo’s Corner: 3.2.1. Action! Today's activity is brought to you by our superb Explorer Coordinator Nautica! Take a go at writing a movie script and if you wish, film this short or even long movie!
Kumo's Corner: Mindfulness is the practice of maintaining a nonjudgmental state of awareness of your body, mind and feelings in the present moment. The ability to calm and focus our minds, even when we cannot change the situation around us, is an important part of managing anxiety and stress. It helps with self-regulation, promotes positive emotions and self-compassion. If you have a moment this week try a mindfulness activity with your family!
Kumo’s Corner: Photo scavenger hunts are a great activity to do with your family, or challenge another family for a fun social distancing activity! The goal is to photograph specific scenarios, locations or objects from the scavenger hunt list. The photographs almost always need to include the players in the photograph. For example, you might need to photograph the entire group eating ice cream. Photo scavenger hunts can be done around the house, backyard, park, or around the neighbourhood. These scavenger hunts are super-easy to organize. All you need is a camera, a little imagination and a few hours set aside for some fun.
Kumo's Corner: What better way to beat the heat then water games!
