Here is our one year ago! One year ago we were beginning our annual shamrock drive... we were able to get the first two weeks in before the shut down and still had great success. In light of the restrictions still in place we will not be having our shamrock drive but we are excited to share our 2021 fundraising campaign. You can learn more about our campaign and contribute by checking out our website, give us a call or send us an email. We will be sharing more in the com...ing weeks about our goals and plans for the future! www.campmonahan.ca [email protected] #fortheloveofcamp

Toby and Vytah didn’t meet at camp but were married there and have adopted it as their own special place! Camp is a great place for family gathering, weddings, school groups, retreats and more. If you or someone you know is looking for a great venue with beautiful outdoor facilities, overnight rooms a well equipped kitchen, dining room and more contact us!

Happy Valentine’s Day! So many Monahan love stories! Chelsey and Jen you guessed it DG and FE, Fred and Donalda Exner. Donalda was a counselor at camp and Fred would come out to visit her whenever he could find an excuse. These two have supported camp ever since, working countless bingos, attending board meetings and barbecues, painting pools, organizing fundraisers (bringing all their friends and family to our fundraisers!) and just as Tara said they have fed us many hotdogs, and gave all the hugs. We are hugely indebted to them for their years of service to camp. Thank you Fred and Donalda for sharing your talents, laughter and love of Monahan! And thanks Ernie for the wedding picture!

Camp alumni, get your piece of history! The inland cabin is undergoing a long overdue renovation and we wanted to give the chance to keep part of the building that is loved by so many. As there have been many years of writing on these walls, we have decided to do a fundraiser to allow alumni to buy their piece of camp. For a minimum donation of $15, you can have the quote of your choice. Not all quotes are pictured here, just let us know what your name and / or nature name and we will send you photos of your quotes for you to choose from! Please get in contact with [email protected] or come to our Homecoming on August 29th for your piece of inland. Please tag any alumni you know that you think would interested! Your generosity is appreciated and will go towards continued improvements to our programming and buildings.

Get your 50/50 tickets in support of Camp Improvements. As we made the hard decision not to have camp this season we are using this time without campers to make some much needed improvements to our building and grounds. All proceeds from the 50/50 will go towards supporting these projects. Please call or message us to get your tickets. DRAW Sept 9, 2020

We are happy to have Chad Penny join our Board in 2019. . My name is Chad(win) Penny and I grew up on a farm near the village of Abernethy which is about 15 minutes east of Lebret. My family had a cabin at Sandy Beach which is directly across the lake from Camp Monahan. Growing up, I would always hear the cheers, excitement and campfire singing. It sounded like a grand time over there. I hoped one day I would be able personally see what it was like to experience it all in pe...rson. Finally, a school trip when I was in Grade 8 took us to Camp Monahan. It was not the same as going to camp for a week...but it was a start! I really enjoyed that limited experience. In the summer of 1991, I was looking for a summer job. I had just finished my first yer of university. My dad told me that Camp Monahan was looking for senior camp counselors. It was close to home, very close to our cabin and it sounded like a great way to spend the summer. So, I applied. I got the job! For the next three summers, I was a counselor at Camp Monahan where I made a lot of new, long lasting friendships and had a ton of fun with campers of all ages! Camp also helped me grow as a person and opened up my mind to a new way of thinking and understanding. I will be eternally grateful for my experiences at Camp Monahan. Many years later, my son Aidan wanted to go to camp thanks to all of the wonderful tales I spoke of. Aidan started his Camp Monahan journey later than most. However, he has been there every summer for the past 5 years and will be there again this year! he absolutely loves Camp Monahan and I love that he does! In 2018 and 2019, I was approached by the executive members of Camp Monahan about coming back to help out in any way I could. I was already heavily involved volunteering elsewhere...but they eventually convinced me to join them in helping out at camp. I joined the Camp Monahan Board of Directors in November 2019 and have been learning how it all works ever since.
