Camp Organizing Committee Spotlight! We are so excited to being another magical camp season at CQ! As we start off this new year, we want to welcome our new Camp Organizing Committee members to the team! Meet Colleen! The newest member of the Camp Quality Southern Ontario team, in the role of Program Specialist! She has been involved with CQ for 4 years now. We asked Colleen to share a little about herself for our community to get to know her!... How did you get involved with Camp Quality: I was introduced by Matt Harris, a former CQNO COC Member and current member of the CQ Board of Directors. At camp you will most likely find me: helping make new tie-dye designs or being a hype-woman for any and every camper! I am pumped to be on the Camp Organizing Committee because: I can apart of the group who create a fun, safe and inclusive environment for everyone! To me camp means: magical, non-stop fun. Favourite camp song: Great Big Moose. WELCOME COLLEEN! We can't wait to see all the magical ideas you create for our campers this season!
January 28 is #BellLetsTalk Day, a nationwide initiative to help break down stigma surrounding mental health challenges. Join the conversation using #BellLetsTalk or reach out to a camp friend to see how they're doing. This past year has been extremely hard, and we're so glad to have our strong and supportive CQ community. If you are struggling, please reach out for help. You can find a list of mental health resources at letstalk.bell.ca
Camp Quality Northern Ontario Camper Nyla (Pictured Right) has been attending camp since 2017. When asked what 3 words she would use to describe CQ, she said Fun, Awesome and Amazing! To her CQ is different from the real world because 'you don't do chores or work and it's FUN!'. The one part of camp she wishes she had with her all-year is her companion, because she loves having a friend with her at all times. To her companion she says, 'Thank you for everything that you do - you are the best!
