Hello Everyone, Its hard to believe that the summer is coming to an end. Jamie and Mia will be finishing up on Thursday. We want to send out a big thank you and good luck to them on their future adventures! Hopefully they will still stop in and visit once in a while.... Finally, to all of our Jr Kindergarten friends who are finishing up with us this Thursday to head off to " big kid school" good luck! We will miss you all, but we know you are all ready to move on!! We have decided to delay our bike day until tomorrow Friday August 23rd, due to the weather. Bring your bikes, scooters, anything with wheels really tomorrow morning for our last bike day of the summer

What a fantastic summer we have been having in the preschool room!! So far this month we have done an art week where we used different materials like pastels, and painted with glue and then added glitter. We have done some pretty fun things with water, like our soap and water table ,which the children loved!! And then this week we have been having some fun with food. Monday we painted with field berries and today we had a garden vegetable taste test using fresh picked peas, carrots and yellow beans!! Tomorrow we will have a garden fruit taste test using tomatoes, cucumber and blueberries. And on Friday we will go to the cafeteria to make our own homemade pizzas!!!

We will monitor the heat, but hopefully we will be able to enjoy our picnic outside. If not we will enjoy in the AC also please use ice packs in their lunches as we dont have enough room in the fridges at daycare. See you all tomorrow

July in the JK room was a time to say good-bye to some friends and hello to our new friends who joined us from pre-school. We had fun doing water play on the deck, making our own bobsleds out of ice chunks, running though the sprinkler and rolling down the hill. We had some sensory fun with our shaving cream under the sea and we even made our own orange juice stand.

Another great weather week here at Campus Kids!! In the preschool room we have been keeping busy!! Our cocoon hatched and we now have a classroom filled with beautiful butterflies!!! We were also very lucky to take a mini field trip over to the biology building where two lovely women, Terri and Marva, showed us all kinds of cool bugs under microscopes and all kinds of other neat stuff! We also took a walk along the trail to look at all of the beautiful flowers and to see if w...e could find some insects. We are also very anxiously awaiting the arrival of "Lucy's" ducklings!!!! We go over every day a few of us at a time and see how she's doing and give her a little snack-"She must get very hungry just sitting on her eggs" as one of my kids commented. We have been going over for about 2 and a half weeks and she will eat the fruit out of my hand! We are very quiet and move very slowly so we don't scare her!! Check out all of our cool pictures!! In the Jk classroom we had a busy month of May finally enjoying some outdoor fun in the backyard and the surrounding areas. We had fun tree climbing in the backyard, playing in the sand areas as well as our wood house. We took advantage of a morning and explored experimental farms area. We seen some ducks in the pond area, tried to see some tadpoles but there were none that we could see and we finished the morning off by flying some kites while running up the hill. We have bought 2 more kites so now we have 4 and we will definitely get them out flying sometime soon.

Welcome to June at Campus Kids!! Hopefully the weather co-operates and we get to spend lots of time outside. In the preschool room we have been working away at our rain forest and insect projects. For the insect portion we have been focusing on caterpillars and butterflies. We made our own caterpillars and even made a cocoon for them too. We are now waiting to see what will emerge....... While we are waiting we made some beautiful painted butterflies. They turned out very ...well, and hopefully they will be up and flying around our classroom before long!!! As for something new and exciting, a few days ago we noticed a duck on the wall over by the library when we were out playing in our backyard. The next morning Sheila walked over to where we saw the duck and sure enough there she was on her nest!!!! This excited all of us including the teachers, so we have been learning a little bit about ducks and what they eat. Every morning Sheila takes one or two of the children over to see the duck ( We named her Lucy because we think she may be the duck from the Superstore!) and we have been feeding her small pieces of banana which she really seems to enjoy!! May 2019 Reminders / tips for the warm weather at Campus Kids: Please sunscreen your child/ren in the am before coming to daycare and your childs teacher will reapply in the afternoon. We provide the sunscreen for the afternoon; we will only use different sunscreen from home if it is due to an allergy. Children should have one full change of weather appropriate clothing in their locker at all times in case of accidents, messes or temperature changes. Children need a su...n hat or ball cap to be worn outside at all times. We do not allow flip flops or open toed sandals/ shoes outside at daycare for safety reasons. They are fine as indoor shoes only. Water bottles are a great idea this time of year. (Please remember to take them home often to clean them). Thank you See more

The JK class decided to take advantage of all the rain weve had this week, so Wednesday morning we went outside to play in the puddles.

What an eventful week in the preschool room!! The weather hasn't been the greatest but we didn't let that stop us from having a great time. Our projects on Insects and the rain forest are still going strong. We made some parrots and we have been doing some research on frogs and we discovered that they can jump up to 100x their body length!! We tried some jumping- we were pretty good but frogs can jump much further than people!! We have been taking care of our crickets, playing and sorting toy bugs, playing with our insects in the sensory table and been making our very own caterpillars, I wonder what will happen to them?? And we didn't let the rain stop us from enjoying our playground!! Check out some of our awesome pictures!!!
