Another 1200 Rainbows hit the water of Pleasure Island Fish Pond at 11:00 this morning.
Once again, thanks to Tom and Rob, the Camrose and District Fish and Game Associations Purple Martin Bird Guys for a successful 2020 Purple Martin Project. The purple martin’s arrived at Pleasure Island Fish Pond on April 29th. 12 adult pairs occupied 12 compartments (full house) in the south parking lot purple martin bird condo. Another 10 adult pairs occupied 10 compartments in the north parking lot purple martin condo. The spring hatch produced 85 birds that fledged. ... On August 20th. the adult birds left Pleasure Island Fish Pond and hopefully took 85 young birds with them. Now thats a successful year Good work guys.
Once again, the Camrose and District Fish and Game Association has to give a big THANK YOU to Dave SCHULTE, owner and manager of A & D VAC AND SEWER SERVICES INC. of Armena, Alberta. Dave has donated his services to the Camrose and District Fish and Game Association out at Pleasure Island Fish Pond for the last two years. Non Profit organizations like the Camrose and District Fish and Game Association are in dire straits due to Covid 19 and with help from people like Da...ve and his company it makes it a little easier to survive.
