MLA Jackie Lovely visited the Camrose Wastewater Treatment facility this morning to announce that the City’s funding application under the Alberta Municipal Wat...er/Wastewater Partnership (AMWWP) program has been approved for $10.2 million for planned upgrades to the facility. MLA Lovely emphasized the importance of investing in rural Alberta and that the Alberta Government has recently allocated $137 million in AMWWP funding to various water and wastewater projects across the province. Deputy Mayor Agnes Hoveland said, This investment in Camrose could not have happened at a better time. Due to changing environmental regulations, we are faced with a $43 million Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade that is an absolute requirement. This $10.2 million investment by the Province of Alberta will go a long way toward funding this essential project. The City of Camrose is hoping to leverage these funds in order to secure further funding from the Federal government. We truly appreciate the Province’s investment in our infrastructure assisting in ensuring the continued delivery of this essential service. The Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade project will begin construction next year and is tentatively scheduled to be completed in 2023. The Notley NDP like to say that they stand with Alberta. But what do their actions say? Their MLAs happily march alongside protesters calling for an end of ou...r energy industry. Albertans already got to know the real Notley NDP and that's why they fired them.
Please be respectful out there folks!!
