Check out these cute little "MOO-dles" we had in for a visit! This is a rare breed - we don't get to see this type of poodle very often! These sweeties were very docile for their rechecks and we can't wait to see them again.

This sweet girl was found in town, and brought to us for an ID check. She has a tattoo, but her owner's info is not up to date so we can't reach them! She had her tattoo and spay done in Olds, and we are hoping with your help we can get her back to her owners! If you know this girl, or her owners, please call 780-672-3171, comment below or message us.

She has a microchip and was spayed with the Edmonton Humane Society in 2016. We cannot reach her owners via the phone numbers from her microchip, so we need your help to get her home! If you recognize this lady or know her owners, please call at 780-672-3171, comment below or send us a message.

Paving of our parking lot officially starts tomorrow! If you need any medications or food - please try to stop by today to get them. Foxtails are out in full force now and dogs have a strange habit of wanting to eat them. Unfortunately the barbs will get stuck in their throat and tonsils and be very irritating. If you notice your pet is swallowing frequently, stretching their neck out, salivating excessively or having a painful mouth please contact us. We may need to sedate them to examine their oral cavity.

Construction has indeed started this morning and will be going on for at least a week. Please use the open entrance (today it is the south one), go to the back of the clinic and call us at 780-672-3171. We will get your pet or bring what you need to you. PLEASE DO NOT WALK THROUGH THE CONSTRUCTION AREA. If you need food or medication you can phone ahead and we can get it ready for you. You can also pre-pay to be more efficient. ... Thank you for your patience.

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 21.06.2020

Due to the lovely weather, our parking lot construction will not start until Monday. In the meantime everyone can park and access us through the front doors as or usual.

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 18.06.2020

Starting tomorrow (hopefully), we will be having construction done on our parking lot. While construction is on going, we will have everyone park behind the clinic, phone in and we will come pick up your animal or bring your medication/food to you. Sorry for the disruption, we appreciate your patience and look forward to having a nice smooth paved parking lot! Here are a couple of retro photos of what the clinic used to look like

COVID update We are starting the next phase of our Relaunch strategy. As of today, we are allowing clients in the building to pick up food/medications and to drop off pets. Since it is impossible to physically distance in the examination rooms, we will still not have the owner present during any procedures. To keep our staff and clients safe, please follow the following guidelines:... Please stay 2 metres from staff and other clients while in the building. Please use the designated EXIT door to help with smooth flow in and out. Use the hand sanitizer provided upon entrance (it squirts out quickly, be careful!) If you need to wait for your pet or to talk to a vet, please do so outside on one of the benches or in your vehicle. This will reduce congestion within the building. If you would prefer curbside pickup, phone us when you get to the clinic and we will come out to your vehicle. If you are not feeling well, showing any signs of illness, have been exposed to COVID-19 or have returned to Canada within the last 14 days, do not enter the building. Call us to make arrangements to take care of your pet. We will not have public washrooms available. We thank you for your patience during these topsy turvy times and are looking forward to the day when we can have everyone back in the exam rooms with their pets! Be safe everyone.

The last couple of days we are seeing and hearing about many dogs that are presenting with red spots in their groin. These are normally caused by small biting flies (and sometimes ants). No treatment is usually necessary and they will go away on their own. If you dog is having difficulty with the itchiness, let us know as we may need to see them and dispense medication to make them comfortable.

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 12.06.2020

The best way to start a Tuesday after a long weekend is with two sweet puppies. Ruby and Luna were very excited to get their immunizations updated.

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 31.05.2020

This nasty little fella was brought in last week. We have had a few ticks brought in and they will be sent off for Lyme Disease testing. If you find a tick on your pet let us know and we can remove it for you and sent it off for testing. We recommend all pets that are outdoors be put on prophylactic tick medication for the summer. Our vets and support staff can help get the right product for your pet.

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 25.05.2020

COVID UPDATE: We are slowly starting our relaunch strategy as of this week. We are back to full staffing levels and as such are able to do regular wellness exams, vaccinations and elective surgeries. In order to protect our clients and staff we still have a closed door policy where we bring medication/pet food curbside and we take the patient into the clinic. We are hoping that if COVID levels stay low over the next 2-4 weeks we can allow clients into the clinic with some r...estrictions. Please continue to email requests to [email protected] or call us at 780-672-3171. We expect the phone lines to be busy so be patient. When we are able to we hope to have someone outside to meet and help you sooner. If you are able to prepay with a credit card that can make things more efficient. We will continue to be closed for lunch hour but will be open on Saturdays. Thank you for your patience and support.

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 14.03.2020

This post does not apply to 99.999% of our amazing clients, but we will remind everyone that we have a zero tolerance for abusive behavior towards any of our staff. We respect the right to refuse service to anyone that violates this policy. If you raise your voice to us after hours, there is a high likelihood that we will not be seeing your pet. We need to feel comfortable with you if we are meeting you alone in the middle of the night and if not we will be referring you to an Edmonton 24 hour clinic.

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 07.03.2020

Happy Friday (or whatever day it is). A couple of reminders about our current operations: -We are still open Saturdays for emergencies and urgent care cases. -We are now closed from Noon til 1:00 PM every day.... -Food and medication can be ordered via phone or email ([email protected]). If you call it in and prepay with a credit card it will be more efficient and allow us to have the food and receipt ready for you. Be safe and have a great weekend!

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 02.03.2020

COVID update for the week: We are still currently open for Emergency and urgent care, medication and pet food. If you need pet food let us know ahead of time and we will get it ready for you and take it out to the parking lot for you. Our phone lines are extremely busy due to the extra calling required to operate like this. You can also email us at [email protected] with questions or to have us get medication/food ready. This may be easier and save you time. We... are continuing to do Telemedicine appointments for cases that may not be as immediately urgent but you would like taken care of, or if you would prefer not to leave home or bring your pet out. Email or call us to get more information and see if this option would work for you. Thank you for your patience in these topsy turvy times.

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 18.02.2020

Easter and COVID update: We will be closed for the weekend starting tonight at 5:00 PM and reopen on Monday April 13 at 8:00 AM. If you have an after hours emergency before that time, please call 780-672-3171, follow the prompts and Dr. Whiting would be happy to help you. Emergency fees will apply. We are still open for Emergency and Urgent veterinary care and for medication and food pickup. In order to protect our staff and clients, we are not allowing clients in the buil...ding. Call beforehand and we can arrange pickup in the parking lot of your pet, food or medication. If you are not feeling well or have any upper respiratory signs please let the staff know beforehand so we can take appropriate precautions. When appropriate, we are doing telemedicine exams over the phone so that you do not need to bring your animal into the clinic. This is being done in an effort to protect clients and reduce the risk of transmission. The veterinarian will discuss your pets condition and if applicable get medication together for them. There is a charge for this exam. We realize that this situation is a tremendous stress on everyone. We appreciate the support and patience of all our great clients as we all struggle through this together.

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 28.01.2020

COVID update: We are still open for emergency and urgent care, along with food and medications. We are not allowing public access to the building, so call ahead (780-672-3171)and we will meet you in the parking lot. Other notes: 1. We have split into three teams that rotate every couple of days to allow ourselves to stay open in the event someone gets sick. Other team members are assisting from home in any manner they can. This means that it can get very busy for those pe...ople working, so please be patient. We are working as fast as we can to help everyone. 2. We will be closed from Noon-1:00PM moving forward, but will still be open on Saturdays and we are taking after hours emergency calls. 3. We are starting to do telemedicine appointments for some calls to prevent having to bring the animal (and yourself) to the clinic. You will call us at 780-672-3171 and set up an phone appointment with a vet. They will take a history, discuss the case, possibly get video or photographs and dispense medications if appropriate. We still may need to see the animal if the veterinarian feels that is needed for the pets safety, depending on the situation. There will be a charge for this that can be paid with a credit card over the phone. Thank you for your patience, like you, we are looking forward to getting back to normal.

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 12.01.2020

There may be an issue with the phones for some people this morning, so if you can not get through send us a FB message or keep trying the phones.

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 09.01.2020

In light of the everchanging COVID situation, we have increased the biosecurity measures. We are still OPEN, but we will be minimizing traffic into the clinic. As of now, the following policies will be in place: 1. We will have a STOP and CALL policy where the front door will be locked and everyone needs to call before arriving at the clinic. When you arrive someone will meet you at your vehicle where we will take your pet/drop off food/medication. FOOD AND MEDICATION is s...till available, we just need to do these extra steps. 2. We will only be taking emergency and urgent care cases. If the condition can wait a week or more then it should be left. All appointments will be done without the owner present and the vet will call with any questions after they are done the exam. 3.Whenever possible we would prefer if you can call with a credit card for payment to minimize the contact with keypads and cash. 4. We will be splitting our staff into distinct teams that rotate days working in order to help protect ourselves in the event that someone gets sick. This will mean we are understaffed on some days, so be patient with us as we try to provide care for everyone. 5. Please be conscious of social distancing and stay in your vehicle while you wait. Be patient and we will get to you as fast as we can.

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 20.12.2019

Another update after the City of Camrose has issued a local state of emergency. 1. We will be reducing our care to emergencies and urgent care cases. A good rule of thumb is that if the problem can wait for a week, it probably should. If you are not sure, contact us and we can determine whether it should be postponed for now. 2. If you are showing any signs of illness, please do not come in to the clinic. Contact our office to make arrangements if you need pet care or foo...d. 3. If you have travelled within the last 2 weeks and are in self quarantine (and you should be) and need pet care/food/medication, contact us and we can make arrangements. 4. Please try to limit one family member at a time coming in with your pet. 5. We can meet you in the parking lot and pick up your pet or deliver food/medication. Please call ahead so that we have everything ready for you. 6. You may be asked to stay in your vehicle or outside until your pet is ready to be seen in order to reduce congestion and maintain a safe social distance within the clinic. See more

Camrose Veterinary Hospital 12.12.2019

A quick update for our clients: 1. If you have traveled lately, please let our staff know before you come in to the clinic. If you are showing symptoms or have been potentially exposed, please call us and we can arrange alternate means to examine your pet. 2. If you would like to limit face to face contact, please advise our staff and we can arrange to pick up your pet in the parking lot. 3. If you are picking up food or medication, you can call ahead to pay over the pho...ne and we will meet you in the parking lot. 4. We have ample stocks of pet food and there is no need to stock up. 5. Please try to limit yourself to one family member coming in for appointments. In order to reduce social interactions, it may be wise to consider holding off on elective procedures at this time. Thank you for your efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community and work environment.
