I just looked at two homes in the past week in which a home inspection was conducted. The inspection reports both stated possible mould growth on sheathing of Attic. No mention of possible causes or why the suspected mould. In both cases the sheathing was rotten, 1/2" OSB board and not ventilated properly When getting a home inspection check the inspectors background. Anyone can become an inspector. There are no licensing, no requirement, go online take a course and you're a ...home inspector. Do yourself a favour, if the inspector has no background in construction, mould, asbestos, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling. then ask him where he got his training.
