Here it is, our new Mooching Reel, the CFR GL 1 now available. We will make 30 of these in 2021. We have tested this new design for two years on a charter boat in Lake Ontario. Features are: 2:1 wind for retrieval rates on par with the level wind reels. Drag lever rotates on the back of the reel from 0 to 120 with detents for positional feel. Just rock the lever back for free-spool and rock it forward to set the drag. Drag is a multi-plate carbon and stainless steel stack. S...tainless steel bearings. Easily reversible left hand/right hand wind. Spool is just under 5, lots of capacity. Introductory price is $925 CAD plus hst. Reel comes with a nice neoprene bag. Colours are either black and silver or blue and silver. Place your order now by email to [email protected] and we will get back to you with details confirming your order. We hope you will enjoy the new GL 1, the Great Lakes 1..like they say..makeā€™er a laker :) See more

We received a nice photo from JP who was the guy who got the Rainmaker Custom 25th Anniversary #001. He used it for the first time yesterday and he dropped us a note to tell us. He likes it!

The last one! A customer asked me the other day about getting a Revolution Reel and I told him that they were all gone. But...I found a spool in a cupboard and had some other parts and was able to put this last one together. The reel was never a big seller and so when guys ask for one I am reluctant to make another run. So, maybe some day but this is the last one for now.

I thought I would show you what we have been working on for the past few years...something new for the future. This is a slight departure from our center pins but is a close cousin. This is our mooching reel that has been under test for the past two seasons on a charter boat in Lake Ontario. A big shout out to Danny who did all the testing, a great guy to work with. I will talk more about this reel and its features in future posts. Sorry, no price worked out yet or when it will be on offer for sale. But...its a brute, lever drag on the back up to about 20 pounds, 8 bearings, 5" and it will retrieve line like a level wind....but its way more fun :) Would love to hear what you guys think!

At long last we are announcing the release of the Niagara Drifter multiplier centrepin reel for sale. We are now accepting firm orders for spring 2021 production. The first run will be about 50 reels made as the clicker version. The price will be $1285.00 CAD plus shipping. Neoprene bag included. Specifications of the reel: Size: 4 (but will retrieve like a 9), line drum width 11/16 same as the Canada Drifter and Rainmaker. Weight: 335 grams = 11.8 ounces, about th...e same weight as a 4.6 Rainmaker Colour: Black or Silver. ABEC 7 stainless steel bearings, same as all our other reels. Winding: the standard reel is Left Hand Wind but Right Hand Wind is available if specified at time of order. Functionality: Handles are mounted on a winding plate nested in the spool face. Winding the handles forward turns the spool twice the speed. When you want to cast or drift wind the handle backwards about a half turn until the winding plate clicks into the park position which you can easily feel. At this point the spool is free so you can cast and drift. When you want to retrieve just wind the handles forward again. There is a button on the back of the reel for engaging the clicker to park the spool. See the video. The price is $1285.00 Canadian Dollars. If you want to order one please send us an email to canadafishingreels@gmail. with your name, address and phone number, reel colour and what hand you wind with. We will reply with instructions to request a deposit of $300 to secure your order. Your order will be entered when your deposit is received. If you have purchased reels from us before you already know the payment details. See more
