Northern Hawk Owl hunting along the roadside in southern Ontario. Unfortunately this owl is living precariously close to the edge. It really is a thrill to see this magnificent owl, but there is a lot of fear for the safety of this particular owl. Northern Hawk Owls as their name states, are from the far north, found mostly through the Canadian Boreal Forest. Most Northern Hawk Owls have never seen a human being, nor cars, or buildings. They are used to trees, not infrast...ructure. As the owls only concern is survival which means food, it pays little attention to the dangers that surround it. As you can see and hear in this video is all the commotion of the neighborhood and even watch a car drive by mere seconds after the owl had dived for a meal. This owl decided to locate itself on the edge of a small town in southern Ontario near a small marsh. I’m sure we would all like it to be in a more rural area, but it’s not. So all we can do is hope this owl stays safe before it decides to return north. See more

Epic Moment with a Humpback Whale from our trip to Bella Coola. While on our stunning cruise of the inlets, we had heard a few Humpbacks were been seen, which is very rare for this area. Bella Coola is still an 8 hour ride to the ocean. So we were pretty deep in coastal British Columbia. So our hopes weren’t to high. When on our return part of the voyage Mara says, I think I just saw a plume. Mere seconds later we both watched in awe saw another spout and yelled Humpback. So ...our group watched a Mama and her calf feeding. Our captain Jeremy from the Huxalk nation was just as thrilled as us. He hadn’t seen a whale in the inlet in 30 years, since he was a small boy. So sometimes you’re just blessed with extraordinary moments.
