Well the weekend alpine training course Chris and I have signed up for is coming up fast. My desk jockey bones are not entirely looking forward to it and the weather forecast is not helping. But rock hounding on mountainsides is not a casual thing and training is a must to reduce injury risks. Checking my clothing list to see what I need. It looks like I am good to go with the exception of gloves. Ski gloves though warm won’t cut it because they’ll easily tear on rock faces... and the leather gloves with knuckle guards I use in the summer ammoniting likely won’t be warm enough. Hmm, cold weather motorcycle gloves?
Good lord! The young pup Chris Robak is dragging my desk jockey butt up to Jasper National Park for classes on mountaineering and traversing Glaciers. Woot! I guess he was serious when he said there was gemmy beryl on a mountain somewhere in B.C.
