Canada’s Best Karate Duncan classes are temporarily suspended as of November 24 2020. In accordance with the PHO order on province-wide restrictions, we have... suspended our in-person classes temporarily, until new guidance is developed, allowing us to resume operations. In the meantime, ZOOM classes will be available starting tomorrow, November 25 2020. We will update all students and families as information becomes available. Good afternoon parents, I hope everyone is safe and healthy at home. I know people, kids mostly will start to become stir crazy which is why it’s important to practice self-care at home. After careful consideration and as the infection numbers continue to grow in the ever evolving COVID-19 crisis, I have made the difficult decision to temporarily close the dojo from March 23rd until March 30th after our Spring Break Closure.... This is a proactive effort to support the recommendation of appropriate social distancing, as it is important that we think about the health of the ones we love and our whole community, particularly our beloved elderly who are the most vulnerable at this time. The other Sensei’s, Shihan, and I are working on some things for next week and we will be sending more info at that time. Stay tuned in to our CBK Duncan Facebook and cbkduncan instagram for updates, videos, ect. of what we have in the works. Lets all please make the best of this situation and take care of our loved ones, reflect on your life, share stories with you kids that they can one day share, reassure them that you love them and everything will be alright, write down some thoughts, and most importantly let go of grudges and be kind to one another. We’ve all gotten so consumed by the pressure of producing and consuming that we’ve forgotten that our emotions dictate time, not clocks. Well, last night did not go my way. With that being the case I could not feel better about the night and after a loss that has never happened. First off, I have... to thank my wife and family for putting up with my crazy ideas of competing in this sport. For understanding the time commitment, training and dieting required and always cheering me on. Love you Jens! I don't know what I'd do without you and our family. Great having you in my corner every day ;) Next I would like to thank my team. Of course my Cbk team that has grown me from 9 years old. All the sensei's, Ethan for being my pad guy and ALL off the students/ adults that came from Duncan and all over Victoria. The amount of support I get from you guys is truly astounding and the only way I can truly thank you is by giving you and the dojo everything I have. I now can also thank Greg and the martial arts unlimited team! Ever since attending your classes I have felt my game improve immensely and truly feel a part of your school. The coaching and guidance you've given has been amazing and am very thankful for you being in my corner and treating me as one of your own. I look forward to growing with you all and getting that belt when the opportunity comes up again! Congratulations to a game opponent, was an exciting fight and a well earned title. I will be back in there when I can and as always will work even harder to get that belt one day. Also a big thanks just to everyone that showed up.
