Meet the judges: Tito Ortos, Puerto Rico Ortos J. Gutiérrez Ortiz, better known as Tito Ortos, was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico. After finishing a bachelor’s degree in Natural Science and studying music, vocals, bass and clarinet, Tito started his career as a Salsa Dancer by his parent’s initiative, both musicians. With his father he has De Menor a Mayor Orchestra with whom he recorded as one of the singers. He also developed as a dancer in other genres such as: Jazz, Mer...engue, "Bomba y Plena", Rumba, Modern Dance and Tap among others. Since then, he has visited more than 150 cities worldwide giving performances and classes with his wife and dance partner Tamara Livolsi. They both participate yearly in congresses around the world and work as judges for the Salsa Open, the World Salsa Championships, the World Latin Dance Cup, Euroson Latino, the World Salsa Summit and the Ultimate Latin Dance Championship, in which they have been members of the committee to create and develop the rules of all of them. Produced the Puerto Rico Hustle and Salsa Festival, coordinated San Juan es Salsa competition, Bayamón Ciudad Salsera competition. Have participated in over 20 television commercials, 15 dance videos and movies such as, "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights", El Cantante: Hector Lavoe and American Gangster as dancers. Tito is the Director of the San Juan City Salsa Dance Program. The "Tito Ortos Method" of learning salsa has been used in Salsa programs in the municipalities of Carolina and Bayamon. Have choreographed and danced for the Latin Grammys, Latin Billboards, Premios Lo Nuestro, etc. for artists such as: Gilberto Santa Rosa, Víctor Manuelle,El Gran Combo, Michael Stuart, Tito Nieves, La India, Nklabe, Rubén Blades, Richie Rey y Bobby Cruz, Domingo Quiñones, Ismael Miranda, Elvis Crespo, Cheo Feliciano, Andy Montañez, NG2, Tommy Olivencia and Tego Calderón. He was the choreographer for Ricky Martin's appearance in Miss Universe 2001 and the Celia Cruz "Azúcar" Special in Miami in 2003. During their 30 year career, they have received more than 40 recognitions and awards around the world. Early bird registration ends November 16th! Register early and save!
