Our dogs are a support tool that help our clients manage their diabetes in several ways. Of greatest importance, our client will develop increased confidence in their insulin therapy, as a result of the dog warning them of an impending low/high blood sugar and allowing them to treat the condition before suffering the dangers associated with hypo/hyperglycemic events. Those dogs are highly trained and highly effective.

Inspiring Monday Story: One of our clients wrote to tell me her son was outside playing badminton in the backyard, his blood sugar had been ok. The black lab we trained for them was inside when suddenly she ran up the stairs at warp speed. The reason? The upstairs window was wide open and she wanted to get a better sniff. After getting the confirmation she needed, she began to alert like crazy...Mum called her son in to check. Blood sugar had dropped to 2.6...disaster averted! Dog-1, diabetes-0
