On Saturday April the 8th, the Schola Cantorum who at one time had many members of the now defungt Austrian Choir "Edrlweiss" is giving after more than 40 years its last concert. Please give the honour to attend. You will hear songs from all provinces like "Hoamatland" and Gretl Schauers "Erzherzog Johann Jodler". Hope to see you there.

The Canadian Austrian Society of Toronto celebrated last Saturday our Spring Get-together. We were honoured by the visits of the Hungarian Consul General Dr. Stefania Szabo, the Austrian Consul Mag. Christian Lassnig and Mr. Sandor Bella, the Vice President of the Hungarian Heritage Association. A great time was had by all with great food and wine and the music of Nadir Farkas on his Violin and his accompanying Keyboard. Soprano Helena Holl gave us some great arias as well. We thank the Tokaji staff under Manager Joseph Safian for their great effort. We will be back for sure. Ernst Kroiss

In 1968 Nancy Greene the first Candian won the Giant Slalom and the Combination in the Olympics in Grenoble. She had trained with the Austrian Team and became a friend of Austria. So much so that when she developed the resort of "Sun Peaks" in BC she made sure it was in the Austrian Style I will be hosting a Ski Trip there on March 5/16 to March 12/16. I hope many of you can join us and I will try to have Nancy ski with us. Hope to hear from you. Ernst (Ernie) Kroiss

Yesterday we had a great day. We started with a church service in the German Chuch of Ottawa and then we had a beautiful lunch at the Sheraton Hotel followed by performances of different groups like the Männerchor of Klagenfurt Pomfeld und die Wiener Frauen Schrammeln. Enjoy
